我1月份开始的工作（在一家研究所），8月5日被炒鱿鱼了。
为了把我招过来，老板也是花了一些钱。面试大概花了2000多加元，签证可能也花了2,
3000，搬家费花了2000多加元，还有来的时候的机票有1500多。
不过他也不傻，这些都是从我的工资扣了。他给我的工资挺低的。我当时也没有别的
offer就过来了。
我工作一直很努力。首先我喜欢我做的事情，还有就是一种习惯。加上住的地方离办公
室只有3-5分钟on feet。我周一到周六几乎所有的时间都在办公室工作。每星期的工作
时间应该是70个小时以上。
老板是一个中年工作狂。每天工作16,7个小时，周一到周日。因为这么长的工作时间，
还有就是他的性格非常难，所以到现在都是单身。应该是女人被他的成就吸引了跟他交
往，不就发现他的自我中心和自私不顾别人感受，就离开了。他对他自己的

半年多前在这个小区买了套房，是在 downtown 附近介于 100 街与 92 街之间的一个
社区里。 98004 的学区，地点好，房子好，风景也还不错，邻居素质好，住得挺舒服
的。本来还想说等房价起来后，拿出去卖掉，不过年纪大了，“不折腾”，就当作养老
之所吧。
我有条黄金猎犬，五岁，每天在社区里遛狗是我的日课。
遛狗的好处除了人与狗都有得锻炼之外，也可以顺便看看人家的房子。这个社区的房子
都挺不错的，连六七十年没有改建过的 dozer 都要 $1M（主要是地价），最高可能可
以到 $3M 吧，前两天经过一套正在卖的要价 $2.67M。我喜欢在遛狗的时候顺便看看邻
居的房子，看看人家的花园怎么设计的，房子的建筑有什么特色等等。同时这个社区的
人也很有礼貌，遛狗时在路上遇见人，都会彼此点头打个招呼，不管对方是开车还是走
路的，只要遇见了就会点个头招招手。

昨天见了一个资格很老的律师。是专门接wrongful dismissal案子的律师。网上的评价
很好，所以就定了让这个律师来处理了。
开始他说工作7个月就给我6个月的工资已经很好了。还给我看了以前的案例材料。
没过会儿就说：This can be an interesting case, reprisal, harassment, human
rights。（律师都很精明)。他说他可以帮我争取更多的钱，推荐信。他这样说的时候
，我心里觉得很悲哀。这样做多少像讹诈。
我前老板一定是不会想打官司的，没时间加上对他的名声很不好。
跟他多要钱会不会显得我非常greedy？我不知道我的下一个pay check什么时候能拿到
。找工作好几个月，这里办签证6+个月。
我想争取属于我的，但是什么是属于我的呢？

厚脸皮向大家推荐一下我最近出的书（Kindle和印刷版都有）--- The Starlight
Fortress。希望这不违反本坛的规定吧？虽然是星际战争小说，但和Star Wars是不同
的。我的书比较接近现实。风格有些类似“银河英雄传说”。如下是摘自San

很好，所以就定了让这个律师来处理了。
开始他说工作7个月就给我6个月的工资已经很好了。还给我看了以前的案例材料。
没过会儿就说：This can be an interesting case, reprisal, harassment, human
rights。（律师都很精明)。他说他可以帮我争取更多的钱，推荐信。他这样说的时候
，我心里觉得很悲哀。这样做多少像讹诈。
我前老板一定是不会想打官司的，没时间加上对他的名声很不好。
跟他多要钱会不会显得我非常greedy？我不知道我的下一个pay check什么时候能拿到
。找工作好几个月，这里办签证6+个月。
我想争取属于我的，但是什么是属于我的呢？
觉得前老板挺可怜的，但是我也要生存。我不想去餐馆大黑工。
