一直厄运连连。两大ACE之一的Waino在春训里被确诊要做Tommy John手术，整个赛季报
废。然后常规赛是成绩不佳，故事不断，就连经理TLR，江湖上俗称老狐狸的家伙也脸
上长了带状疱疹（Shingles）曾经一度无法带队，被NL Central的对手嘲笑不已。时间
一晃到了这年的8月25日，离常规赛截止只有一个月多一点的时间了，这年的NL有一个
外卡名额，显然是在一个叫做Braves的队伍囊中。Braves领先小强10.5场。此时TLR的
心中埋藏了一个天大的秘密，不，他不是想要追上Braves,而是打算赛季结束退休了。

，这次还是有所不同的，毕竟最后一两场不管输赢，这个赛季就要结束了。
MLB在第六场开始前几小时决定将比赛顺延一天，因为天气预报说晚上暴风雨。老狐狸
的心里暗暗高兴，如果有第七场的话，第四场首发的木匠有可能在仅仅休息三天的情况
下继续首发。毕竟，短暂休息的木匠还是比吃饱喝足休息好的那几个废柴要强，当然这
话不能对那几个废柴说，否则打击人家的积极性。
比赛在原定第七场的时间段开始了，还是加西亚对刘易斯。游骑先下一城，博客曼马上
来了一个2 run HR还以颜色。加西亚看来这次不在状态，游骑在第二局上扳成2:2平。
因为有可能是最后一场，老狐狸早早地换下了加西亚，让牛棚来完成剩下的比赛。
此后两个队都有些不在状态，失误和misplay不断，比分也是交替上升，让人看得昏昏
欲睡。第五局上Freese失误让一个很容易的pop-up就在身边落下，老狐狸当时估计是睁
着眼睛打了个盹，否则估计要让防守好的Descalsco换下Freese了。事后证明他打的这
个盹是多么的及时。

On the contrary, they could get 2 outs if Punto grounded into
double play.
Let's also not forget: Freese got to 3B on a wild pitch, because
Washington had no clue what he wanted to do with Molina. So
instead of this mess, how about this plan: after retiring Berkman,
let's pitch around the red hot Freese. In the worst case, Freese
is walked, and you can still bet on Molina, who had 20+ GIDP this season.

刚刚有人贴过。话说这打满7场的系列赛，最后比的还真是经理的智商。
不出大家所料，老狐狸让仅仅休息了3天的木匠作为首发，另外三个实在是靠不住呀靠
不住。木匠首局不利，让游骑连连安打，一会儿就是0:2落后了。小强的粉丝们心都提
到了嗓子眼上，相信大家想到的都是NLDS的第二场，也是仅仅休息3天的木匠对李悬崖
，木匠投了3局就被换下，换下时是0:4落后。这时木匠的好友Molina做了一个对他来说
是稀疏平常的动作：pick-off了一垒的runner，拿到了一个宝贵的out，迅速稳定了军
心。木匠很快结束了1局上，没有继续丢分。江湖上有一句俗话叫做“Don't steal
from a Molina.”杀偷垒是Molina的家族传统，不从Molina那里偷还不行，还要防着
Molina从你这里偷走。
扯远了，拉回来到1局下。经过了昨晚过山车一般的大起大落，华盛顿估计现在有点江
郎才尽外加精疲力尽。明知道这个叫做Freese的年轻人现在的状态是红得发紫，还下令

进攻大幅倒退，台面下的原因是Freese酗酒的老毛病又犯了。他因为DWI已经是two
strikes，再被抓就得蹲一阵了。之前红鸟还和养鸡以及其他队联系交换Freese的事，
都没谈成，直到遇到活雷锋。 |

around Freese, the game would still be a close one. So it's totally
manager's fault. Trailing 4-6 in the 3rd inning is not a big deal.
With 1 out, slow Molina following, it was a no-brainer to walk Freese.
That double plus IBB to Molina opened the door for Cards.
And there is no need to start Gallardo on game 6. Narveson should
be fine if the manager did his homework.

You know what 8 consecutive balls against Pujols and Berkman mean,
don't you? Those were not borderline pitchers that Harrison missed
by 1-2 inches.
Putting tying run for free to challenge Freese, isn't that a good idea?
Don't tell me after game 6, other managers would have still seeing
Freese as a nobody. |

, just pitched around a little bit, hoped Molina and Freese would bat. You
got to give Cardinals credits, they were patient at bats.
BUT,
The most important thing is that line-up does not have an A-Rod, imagine if
A-Rod were in the middle of it, the game would have ended his at bat,
Nationals would have been so happy to move to the next round. In summary, A-
Rod's value is second to none, a 30 million choker. |

had given up AT LEAST 5 runs in 6 of 7 recent games put your team
in an 0-4 hole even before your team has one at bat.
It was an even better decision to give up 3 run homer to a hot guy,
who was not only 9/16, but also had already homered in each of
2 games played in that stadium.
Yet, that's still not the best decision of all. Freese was challenged
again to rally 3 more 1 out runs with GIDP stud Molina getting a free pass.

NLCS back in 06.
What did Punto do to scare the shit of Washington? 1HR on 150AB,
or a clutchy slugger reputation from his Twins years? Oh, Punto
is a great contact hitter, who had been struck out 11 times in
21 postseason AB.
What if Punto scored on Craig's double and Rangers lost by 1 run?
Can we still say that free pass to Punto didn't matter? I guess after
