Palatine: Palatine has two high schools --- Fremd and Palatine High, two
Junior high schools -- Sundling and Plum Grove.
The better ones are Fremd and Plum Grove, Fremd >> Palatine , Plum Grove >
Sundling.
Good Elementary schools are : Jordan , Pleasent Hill > Hunting Ridge
If you want a house with 3 good school combo (3 hao school dist.) the price
for a newer single family house is at least 600K

这两个地方紧靠fremd。 远一点的barrington,我也给了offer, 后来还是选择了fremd
。因为去barrington做了很多次实地调查，包括平时开车，尤其是晚上下班，还有10点
后看看小区的氛围，环境等。周末也到那里去踩点，感觉是个老区，缺乏一些活力。
主要是老人居多，最后还是决定只在inverness , palatine里面选择。
buffalo grove是个学区房，那里房源很足，价格也合理，stevenson high school也是
好学校，只是离上班远了点，最后放弃。 |

好处，就是我这里距离轻轨站开车5分钟，你以后要进城工作也很方便。而且这里的房
价过去的一年都很平稳，出手也很快。 |

可以自己开车到附近的学校里去看看啊。就是Roselle开到euclie 或者Illinois，这里
就是60067的区了。你会看到左边大多数是golf field, 这里当年就是以建高档小区为
目标建起来的。右边就是围着这field造起来的房子区。 居住的多以律师，医生为主，
很多人都是一进去就20 年都没出来那种。 你延着illinois开，很快就会看到几所学校
，就分别是pleasant hill, fremd high school. 都集中在这个区域里，孩子上学极
其方便，因此这一带也被美国人称为 golden triangle. 你去看家庭医生的时候都问问
看他们住哪里，你会发现大多都在这一带。呵呵 |

芝加哥华人多就是好，版上的讨论很多，花了很多时间把在西北郊买房子的讨论
都看了一遍，获益匪浅。不过还是有不少问题，请教大家：
（1）关于Vernon Hills的讨论不多，是不是这边有什么不好的地方？华人、黑人
和墨西哥人多吗？看ziprealty上，Vernon Hills出售的房子不少，价格比buffalo
grove
便宜不少。感觉环境很不错，也有火车进城。
（2） Vernon Hills High School怎么样？看schooldigger上的评分也是最高的，
比 Adlai E Stevenson High School 和 William Fremd High School比起来怎么
样？能有多大不同？
（3）还有什么要考虑的情况？
估计真正买房子得在三个月到半年以后，现在就想把事情搞清楚，天生的劳碌命和
急性子，没办法的。

得不错，糊里糊涂就买了。
后来1查，靠，是Palatine High，隐隐觉得一些同事鄙夷的眼光
哈哈
那个时候Fremd还是很不错的，尤其有一片是小学初中高中都好的所谓“3好学区"
儿子那个时候参加MathCount， 打不过Naperville北和中，当时觉得Naperville 很牛。
现在情况慢慢都或多或少的有变化了，也许不是情况变了，而是自己知道的更多了

芝北有好几条火车通芝加哥, 还有94, 41, 和好多小道, 加上Depaul, Loyola,
Northwestern
,Lake Forest大学, 几个大药厂, 和几个大公司的总部, 中产阶级比较集中. 西面
也有几个好城市, 而且比北边的面积更大, 人口多, 交通似乎比较拥挤, 房价和税比
较底. 各有各的好处, 最好你开车转一下, 找一下感觉, 多问问同事.
