1).国内过来的gift fund可以作为reserve fund吗？
我知道gift fund不能用来做投资房的closing cost。
2).还有配偶银行里的钱可以作为reserve fund吗？
配偶没有信用，没有用来共同贷款，但是名字共同出现在房子的title上。

fund也是100万刀起步。有个下限是因为要对投资人解释一些理念和操作，如果只投个
10万20万的，确确实实没那么多时间来为您解释。
其次fund的投资人是有眼光的，这些人虽然自己不太会炒股，但是在看人方面很有自信
。这些人往往已经在某个行业赚了不少钱，自己没时间炒股，就会选择一个理念和自己
差不多的基金经理，把钱投给他。也就是说，基金经理也往往是帮助忙碌的投资人实践
他们自己的理念的。
如果你的钱不多，时间充分，建议不要投资任何基金，好好学炒股票好了。投资fund是
为了省下操作时间，自己可以忙别的事。从这点开说，fund投资人是比普通散户高一个

越好，比如1年，3年，10年。如果要早脱手的话，至少要等5-12个月。最近整个股市都
跌，建议你不要卖。
关于一些给新手的建议是，建议去买Vanguard推荐的Mutual funds，然后多看一些关于

是不是这些利息其实都反映在价格调整里了，所以实际上我并没有多赚？
打个比方，bond fund原来面值是$50，发了$1利息，所以给了我1/50=0.02 share。那
发完利息后，是不是fund面值也小跌（假设变成$49.95）, 所以即使加上我新获得的0.

我是ORISE fellow, 是属于Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU),program是P
开头的，我在US Department of Agriculture 工作。
我的DS2019上program sponsor写的是ORAU，但是funding一栏写的是department of
agriculture，下面打钩也是government funding。
我想问一下我这样算是government funding吗？如果是，那USCIS会去问sponsor view
，那他们是去问ORAU吗？因为他们是我的sponsor
不知道有同样情况的前辈吗

老板今天告诉我，明年的RA support is pending upon the funding availability，
目前有几个递上去的proposal，但是不知道能不能赶上funding明年的fall，为了以防
万一他已经跟系里主管TA的老师联系了。对方也没有把话说死，只是要了我的cv
老板还说不介意我找其他prof，他这边有了funding肯定先考虑我。话说的挺诚恳。我
刚来一年，在他这做的还算开心，想继续做下去。但是眼下这个情况，不知道是不是应
该主动联系系里其他老师了。问题主要是：万一其他老师收了，我老板又有了funding,

营利公司目前40多人还在扩展，管理fund 1.5 billion 不到。VP 是CPA大概120K左右
，fund manager CPA 80K左右，fund analyst I 08年master非CPA有CPA firm intern
经验然后一直在此公司目前薪水55K不到， analyst II 08年本科有CPA在firm做了三年
然后换到
此公司目前51K不到， analyst III 07年master非CPA做了4年会计换到此公司目前51K
不到。
Analysts年底argue工资，涨幅应在5K~10K， CEO一直拖延处理。每天7.5小时，目前很
少加班。 普通员工年底有profit sharing 5% 打到401K， bonus 普通员工1K~2K （苦
逼吧），工资涨幅每年大概3~5%。
不是所有fund 公司都那么好，但是做fund确实是满有前景的 |

fund，甚至有些好像是hedge fund（不确定，从manager fee看特别高）。
我对fund accounting之类了解不多，就希望如果在fund里做tax相关的工作。然后自己
也一边学习投资。

发帖数: 87 | 24 P/E，V/C，或者 hedge fund 的 tax 职位要求都挺高的，你的经验有点浅，而且好的
funds都是内推或者圈内refer，极少会登广告。另外，我所知道的大部分funds 都不
sponsor H1B.
你还是转industry 希望比较大，corporation 对tax 的需求还是很大的。或者你可以
争取进四大，接触更多的P/E fund 客户，如果能给客户留下好印象，以后他们招人可
能会考虑你。
另外，fund 里工作的人没有你想象的那么tough，都很友善,对CPA firm 也是如此。
来我们公司做auditing的某四大，一大群人每天在我们的厨房里早上蹭吃早点喝咖啡，
下午蹭吃 ice-cream 和各种水果，我们也都没说什么。直到后来发现他们频繁地夹带
5-hour energy drink 回他们的cube，我们才忍无可忍才出了个只能堂吃不能外带的
policy。。。。 |

发帖数: 87 | 25 那个女孩应该也是有绿卡才进的fund。 一般的fund的只招绿卡,因为太多太多的人想挤
进来了。当公司有了opening的时候，一般情况下是先内推，再在圈内的熟人找，最后
才会通过几家中介不公开的找。中介先做 screening, 所以在中介那层，没绿卡，没
fund 经验的申请人都被刷掉了。剩下的各项条件都符合的，每个中介会推3到5个申请
人过来。
依据你的描述，你在现在的firm做的return比较杂，并不是纯正的做 financial
services tax. 在四大的话会有专门的 financial services team，接触的客户和做的
return 也要高端复杂的多,尤其是 hedge fund。
综上所述，你还应该再蛰伏几年，等到有了身份和更多的专业经验，到时候再考虑进
fund。
你现在搬到弯区，至于是进四大还是industry，如果没有后顾之忧（有人帮你照顾小婴
儿），我建议你就尽量进四大的 financial services。四大忙是忙，但是一年只有两
个忙季，其他时间空的很。Industry里的 tax department 其实非常忙，而且一年四季

百万。即使你在hedge fund做controller,分分钟超过performance 一般的pm.完全看你

就拿女友之前audit的fund来说，chief accounting officer也是从四大跳过去的。不
过七八年功夫，fund 发展的很快，自然也水涨船高。现在加上奖金也快百万了。这个
就是能力加运气了。只要你fund牛，每年恒定有个15%-20%,那真是钱多的扑出来。牛
fund如sac能敢叫5-50%,可钱还是想进去（现在转private了）
现在大头都是机构投资者，不喜欢波动太大。你要是有好的track record.基本钱都向
里面涌。

今天我们收到另外一个法考题发来的一个信件，说是众院的一个财政委员会已经通过的
明年的财政案里，对教育部门将大幅削减资金。加上已经实施的sequestration, 总共
削减度达到20%。
有人知道这个是怎么回事么？这个是来真的还是吓吓我们而已？如果真的削减20%,很多
实验室都要关门了吧。

如果说fund of fund要推销一些产品需要呼悠我能理解, 真要那么牛能forecast hedge
fund return, 自己开个hedge, 根据自己对自己strategy return的forecast, long/
short自己的strategy好了.
and i dont feel most hedge fund strats are well understood. otherwise it is
too easy to make money against them. Many strats are similar though, but the
small different part can make a big impact on the overall performance. |

这个很恶劣的，很多小FUND， 08年都赚钱
但是还是死了，大FUND不让REDEEM，他们就去REDEEM小FUND
搞得小FUND都没法活了，这个世道不公平啊，赚钱的FUND倒闭，赔钱
的接着吃FEE，比如CITADEL，不过也没法，存在就是其合理性的 |

能出来开hedge fund 的都是有些实力的,因为hedge fund 成立得有人投钱进去,投钱的
人都是人精,相当于帮你审查过了.
hedge fund 的start up 和其它什么电脑公司start-up 完全是两个层面的东西,要成立
个hedge fund,一般人连手续都跑不完.
别想了,加入不会吃亏的,最多以后重新找工作.好多在大公司的trader,到一定时候都想
出来单干,更别说在大公司做quant的了. |

什么方法可以判断买家是用CC FUNDED还是BANK ACCOUNT FUNDED？貌似买家用CC
