stands for “magnetic resonance imaging,” and it uses magnetic and radio
waves to produce images -- not radiation.
The only possible danger from an MRI is a tiny risk of allergic reaction to
gadolinium, the contrast material that is usually used in people with MS,
which usually is mild. Also, people with kidney dysfunction are at risk for
a more serious condition, called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, caused by
gadolinium. |

My wife (33 years old) has some 腿麻, 胳膊麻 etc lately. Her numbness is
sometimes on the left or right leg, arm, toes, fingers, and even face, but
never on all these places at the same time.
We went to our family doctor and he ordered a non-contrast brain MRI for her
. It turns out there is a sub-centimeter focus on her brain. Then our doctor
ordered a contrast MRI, the sub-centimeter focus is still there. Report 1)

，颈椎的MRI，刚拿到报告，医生说没有大的问题，需要进一步去看神经外科，但是我
看到头部MRI的报告显示有问题，这个让我很担心。 然后这个颈椎的问题能引起头晕么
？ 报告上写的是没有脊髓和神经压迫。 请帮忙看看怎么回事？ 暂时我还没拿到片子

发帖数: 78 | 10 是MRI造影剂过敏还是含碘造影剂过敏？
MRI造影剂含gadolinium，anaphylactic shock很少见很少见，基本上有极少数病例报
道的就是multihance和prohance。其他厂家生产象omniscan，magnevist的safety
profile好些，但既然有这个病史，估计不会有人敢再给用了。
含碘造影剂是CT用的，过敏的人相对多些，但是跟MRI造影剂不应该交叉过敏。
脑部肿瘤介入手术的imaging，是定位用吗？如果确实MRI和CT造影剂都过敏，就比较难
办了，但一般情况下MRI的分辨率就应该够了，除非肿瘤很小或者水肿很严重，一般不
需要造影剂啊。
听说过有很大的cancer center用pet ct做介入定位的，不过在颅脑的应用有限。
单纯出于好奇，哪里的医院在做MRI之前还offer造影剂的pre-test？ |
