Will Galen Rupp take down Solinsky and Bernard Lagat? Lagat is running the
1500m final tomorrow and would want to save energy by running a slow race.
Rupp has more endurance and would likely push for a fast pace, after last
night's slow 10K (in which Rupp closed with a 1:52 800m). This is as good as
it gets in America!
fuck, it won't be televised live. gotta watch on espn2 at 11pm est. |

|
w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 3 “He used to run all his mileage very slowly,” Salazar said. “His average
pace was probably 6min 45sec per mile. Now the average pace that he and
Galen run is about 5-45, and that’s 17 to 20 miles a day. They sometimes do
20 miles and go 5-30 pace, and that isn’t a particularly hard day.” |
|
Galen Rupp, Chris Solinsky. |

L***0 发帖数: 1283 | 7 Wow. Galen Rupp has really silenced his critics now. Good for him! |
|
L***0 发帖数: 1283 | 8 To put things in perspective, Geb's 800m personal best is 1:49, Galen Rupp's
is 1:50. |
|
|
L***0 发帖数: 1283 | 10 Galen Rupp's 100m time with a running start is 10.9. Mo Farah's time is 11.3. Neither could break 11 out of
the blocks. Some say even El Guerrouj cannot break 11. |
|
L***0 发帖数: 1283 | 11 There was an interview with Galen Rupp while he was doing a recovery run on
a treadmill. His pace was 6:18.
Many elite runners count their weekly mileage by "badger miles", that is,
they run by time and count 7 minute miles (whereas in reality they always
run faster than 7:00 pace). |

Sage Canaday

S*******t 发帖数: 174 | 41 No chance. Galen Rupp would kick Ryan Hall's ass at any distance.

|
|
S*******t 发帖数: 174 | 44 Rupp just ran 3:50 for the mile and 7:30 for 3K INDOOR this season. That
means he is the 5-th fastest EVER in the indoor mile, and I believe also the
5-th fastest ever in the indoor 3K, behind only Komen, Gebrselassie, Bekele
and El Guerrouj. In other words, Galen Rupp is possibly the best distance
runner on the track in the world at the moment. He likely will win a big one
this year in the outdoor season. |
