NEW YORK, Aug 23 (Reuters) - The crack spread on gasoline traded on the New
York Mercantile Exchanged slumped to a nine-month low on Monday as the end
of the summer driving season nears.
The crack spread for September RBOB gasoline against crude oil hit a low of
$4.07 a barrel, the lowest since hitting a low of $1.54 on Nov. 16, 2009. On
Friday, the crack spread had closed at $7.39, rising from $6.58 the day
before.

ranges of b.p., I assume gasoline is composed mostly with saturated
hydrocarbon and diesel partialy with unsaturated hydrocarbon.
The bond-dissociation energy of C-C is much larger than C-H, which suggests
that oxidation of diesel gives much more energy than gasoline.

S.Korea,China to accommodate Japan with oil
China and South Korea say they will send gasoline and other petroleum
products to earthquake-hit Japan, where a fuel shortage is hindering relief
activities.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said on Thursday that China
will ship 11,760 kiloliters of regular gasoline and the same amount of
diesel oil as grant aid to Japan in response to a request.
