government的，目前老板准备给用J1 继续我现在的工作，至于原因，就不想多说了，
这里工作真是规定多多。
有个问题，在申请waiver的时候，要回答经费是否由US government or chinese
government，international organization.请问一下有经验的大虾们，这个是不是对
waiver的批准有影响。
然后就是waiver时老板要出具的supporting letter是谁写呢，是项目科研老板，还是
行政上的老板（我们这个机构每个区域都有一个行政上的老板，就像是学校里面的系主
任，所以也就是说教授们自己是不能有这个权利签发的，，在这里的情况是这样的）。
我有这疑问是因为我的invitation letter都是要行政上的老板给写和签署发出来的，
而不是我科研项目老板写的。不知道这个support letter是不是跟invitation letter
同样性质的东西。这里只要涉及到是行政上的东西，签署和发不发都是有非常严格的规

50 万左右。最近和别的group申请到CO2 sequestration的项目，一年又有20万的进账
。组里主要靠博士后干活，所以一直再招人。

我和老婆是丛phoenix出发，开车三小时到达nogales,az，停车场4刀。悠然走过border
,出租司机会说一点英语，
至少懂cosulate and border。 大约10分钟到达使馆，到时已经8：00多了，好多人已
经进去了，我们特意问了门
口的工作人员（注意不是保卫，问他们也没用，他们不太懂），确认：
1。arizona学生不用预约
2。下午三点前都可以进（并不是过了8点就不能进了，policy改了？不知道为什么以前
是那样，要问清楚）。
3。156，157，158表都要填
于是留下老婆排队，我去banamax缴费。 121刀一人（按当天汇率）。banamax是9：00
开门。从使馆到
banamax只要10分钟 |

发帖数: 222 | 32 之前也被中信银行代签规定搞得头大，因为我上次的签证正好过期在一年内（预约面签
时间在上次visa过期一年以内，其实是符合代签条件的）。后来还是决定去排队面签，
没有被官网上所说的被拦下来。
问了几个很简单的问题：where are you going? what do you study? who will pay
you? can i see your transcript? 就过了。感觉成绩单很重要，因为2年前也要了且
只要了成绩单。当然，材料准备越充分越好。
关于DS表们，我同时准备了双面打跟单面打各两份，进了签证大厅内发现大家都用单面
打的，我也就用了单面的了。还有156上的曾用名，我都是空着的，学校名字和地址那
一栏只填了名字的中文，因为实在写不下地址的中文名，而且感觉翻译起来也怪怪的。
表们一定要打印清晰，签完出来发现一女生因为156第三页的条形码打印不清楚被请出
来，那样就相当麻烦了。
护照可以自己取，也可以让快递送（必须得在管辖区内），同样都花50rmb。我家不在
上海管辖区，就自己去拿的，签完后隔一天就拿到了。

刚收到premium processing receipt notice，本来预期出结果得新年后了。因此得知
获批后，就感觉像是收到了意外的圣诞礼物！
首先说明下，楼主人并不在北美境内，以前多在版内匿名浏览，获取各位分享的信息，

在校刊上看到最近40年的热门专业变迁（见末尾的附图），近年排名第一的经济专业，
40年前连前五名都没进。40年前排名第一的英语专业，本年度第一次被挤出前五。40年
前排名第二的历史，本年度还在第四名——不容易啊。生物排第三，是不是比国内吃香。
总听说心理学专业难找工作，但也排名第五。这个热门专业排名看来和实用专业排名不
一样。
又去找了找别的学校的热门专业情况。princeton开宗明义说热门专业不等于找工作方
便，不是给你一个固定的职业道路，而是教你各种skill sets，适用于不同职业。然后
