drivers.
i guess that is because hp is not consistent with ps
standards (or ghostview is not). adobe drivers are
compatible with ghostview. and i can use ps2pdf to convert
to pdf format. cool. |

先用ghostview或其它的ps文件阅读器的Ps to Eps功能生成eps
文件，然后用photoshop或者paintshop或者其他普通的图像编辑
软件打开，然后save a copy as转存为gif或jpg或whatever ok.
举例而言，在http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/gsview/get33.html
当得免费ghostview软件，安装完毕后打开你的.ps文件，用File菜单
里的Convert功能, Device里选择jpeg, resolution往高里选 (越高
越好但是转换越慢生成文件越大), 然后ok即可, save as一个jpg
文件。注意！如果ps文件是多页的则要一页页地Convert。
如果这个办法还有问题，则从http://jasc.com/download_4.asp
当得免费paint shop图像编辑软件，安装后File打开你的eps文件。
(使用ghostview的File菜单里的Ps To Eps功能生成eps文件)，然后
选择合适的resolution，打 |

I am not 100% sure. If you cannot, get ghostscript and ghostview (google it)
then open your eps file in ghostview and in menu edit->add preview->word metafile
then you insert the new eps file into word, you should be able to see it and
print it with very good quality. Try to avoid using jpg, gif or other format since
they will basically decrease the quanlity when printed. |

diagrams in PPT, and convert them through:
http://oletex.sourceforge.net/
You need to configure a Postscript printer for it.
Or you can save selected diagram in PPT, and save them as wmf/emf files.
Then use emf2eps to convert them.
The tools may not determine boundaries correctly, then use ghostview to
convert to eps again, by selecting determining boundaries.

经费买的，大概上千美元了
既有iwork，也有mac下的intel fortran之类 |

seminar生成的dvi是default为landscape的
所以转的时候要注意这个
这样转了以后你在ghostview下全屏就好了
和powerpoint的全屏效果一样
报告的时候，空格键为next page
backspace是last page
我是贴成pdf，因为国内不少小孩可能都不用postscript的
而且文件也小些
其实一般还是用ps好，特别如果用了eps的图
pdf里质量可能下降 |

等，过几天后，就会出现这种现象。logout重新login可以解决一会儿，但是很快又有

the problem i have now is that sometimes i cannot use mpage
to arrange the multiple page layout. anyway the driver is

Here is the simple way.
In Windows, print the doc to file using a postscript printer
driver. HP Color LaserJet 5/5M is good, for example. Then
modify the extension of the printed file name to .ps. Upload
to a linux machine, use ps2pdf to convert it into .pdf. Or open
the .ps file in Aladdin Ghostview and you can convert ps to pdf
using File->Convert, choose pdfwrite in "Device:". |

you drew two thin white rings sandwiching the thicker colored
rings, whereas I drew the colored rings on top of fat white
rings.
If I draw the rings as arcs from 0 to 360 degrees, they don't
close completely (as rendered by ghostview). I am not sure
why; hence I drew the circles as arcs from -1 to 361 degrees. |

Since there are very few packages available at www.sunfreeware.com,
I have to donwload source and compile myself. However, there are so many
errors
Take gv or ghostview as example
xmkmf always think Sun cc is available, and give -Xc -XF options after
compiler, and the error message is "unrecognized option ...". googled it
and somebody mentioned that we need to change openwin X configs so that
the compile will pass thru, any Sun SysAdmin here?

run ghostview: 1 minute
less than 15 minutes. you don't really have to understand latex at all, just
to know how to use its most basic functionalities. after using it for a while,
you'll understand latex more and more. |
