Traditionally, or by common sense, I should believe that the translation I
have in hand is the best Chinese translation, since it bears the Commercial

但是我还不是很明白他为什么会认为基督教是罗马帝国衰落的原因（虽然我完全同意基
督教在道德水平上并不占有优势）。因为东罗马帝国（拜占庭）以基督教为国教，这个
帝国存在了一千年。这个时间长度无论是在东西方都是相当impressive的朝代寿命。另
外它是被更加极端(exclusive)的一神教，伊斯兰教的土耳其所灭，而且即使灭亡，东
罗马帝国的亡国子民也为中世纪的欧洲带去了文艺复兴的火种，从而开始了欧洲人成功

最后补充说明，我本人并不认为信仰基督教能够给中华民族带来像西方人信仰基督教带

Comparatively, yes.

为什么我们要去研究事实和证据? 广而括之, 为什么我们要学习历史?
两百多年前, 有一个年轻的英国人来到罗马, 在这坐已经老去的城市里
游荡. 他来到一个空无一人的老教堂, 进去, 在那里凭吊.
就在此时他意识到, 在似乎一切都是静止的, 永恒的表象下, 他背包里的
表还在滴滴嗒嗒的跳动. 只有通过这只怀表, 历史才和现实联系在一起,
历史才真正成为活着的历史.
这个年轻人就是日后写下The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire的
Edward Gibbon.
不和现实发生联系的历史, 是死了的历史. 研究它固然有一定的意义,
却远没有研究可以和现实产生联系的历史来得有价值.
然而从严格的意义上讲, 历史是不可能重演的. 人不能两次踏过同一条
河流. 那历史怎么可能对现实起到指导作用呢?
答案是通过规律. 历史相当于数据, 离散的数据本身没有意义, 有意义的
是从里头反映出来的统计规律, 历史趋向. 如果从历史上看, A-->B的可能

and another one is "notary pulic and medical school" . The "notary public"
one I used on April was gone. I called ECFMG and told me although the
announcement came out on MAy, it will affect all the applicants whose
verification was not finished after Aug 2008......I am not sure this is true
or not. And also the problem is many medical school don't know this new
role for the application and definitely will slow down the pr |

5月15-16号考的STEP3，今天出成绩，过了（226/84），虽然我一点也不怀疑我会不通
过 （不知哪里来的delusion哈），也没有很高的期望。分数还是比我想象的要好看一
点点。 Step3 是最不专心所以感觉最痛苦的考试，终于完成了。考过step3 并不代表
自己就不是软脚蟹了。 想到第一天考后，晚上还在急急忙忙看CCS，看考经，还是要感
谢我所得到的帮助，我就不一一列出了。告别USMLE之际，对USMLE也要说谢谢，感
谢考试的机会。
同时和没有考的焦虑的，高标准严要求的同学通报一下考试情况， 连我都通过了，祝
愿你们通过并且考得更好。

过不断重复这些话语以减轻压力或提高专注程度。
15 分钟后，抑或更短的时间，人体的不同部分会做出响应，并引导肌肉（如颈部、手
