broken it maybe, it's still something. and u probably got something left in
ur acct. whereas i only got 18 bucks in my pocket now, and a round trip
ticket to the shitty gig next week and nothing left in my acct, even after

medical/401k of a regular job.
Not to mention there's the contractor risk premium (he's NOT guaranteed
a pay check bi-weekly) and the fact that he has to continue to look for
gigs.
You probably have a MBA - you should know this.
In a way, that's no different than starting your own business or making
a successful bet on housing/stock market.
Kudos to your uncle for taking these risks and they are paying off for
him.
