Watkins Glen State Park 露营。Watkins Glen SP 在NYC 的西北部的Finger Lakes
Region，离ＮＹＣ 大概300 Miles。Watkins Glen 最著名就是Gorge Trail 的瀑布，
葡萄酒园，赛车场， 几个大湖，和附近Corning 的玻璃工厂。因为有小孩所以我们只
有在露营区附近走走, 没有去其他地方。 7月4日是星期4，星期5多拿1天假，一共有4
天假期。星期4早上从Long Island出发，从I-95到I-84，多开一点路去Newburgh的一个
有机果园上摘蓝莓。 果园早上10 点开门，我们10点半到，不是很多人，蓝莓很多，很
甜。
摘完蓝莓继续由I-84 向西， 再走 Route17向西， 经过Binghamton，Elmira，
Horseheads，再走 Route 14 向北大概30分就到营地了。 因为是独立日， 公园门口人

发帖数: 524 | 3 Teddy疯没疯我现在还没搞清楚，但我已经快被搞疯了。昨晚从迅雷看了带字幕的版本，
研究了这个电影大半宿，越来越糊涂。睡觉时竟然做了许多梦，为电影补充了很多情节
。（不过现在都忘得差不多了，只剩下轮廓了）。
大部分人认为Teddy一直就是个疯子（多数派），但也有极少数人相信他没有疯(少数派
)，双方都能找到有利于自己的证据。但是我觉得要说明他疯还是不疯，必须把所有疑
点都给解释清楚了才可以。但现在是两种结论都有不可克服的问题。
先说少数派，要证明他没有疯，最难解释的是the law of 4。因为四个名字确实是两两
字母互换而出现的，提示名字的确是他臆想出来。(更巧合的是Rachael这个名字，既符
合the law of 4，又同时是他女儿的名字。)还有就是他做的帮助Rachael处理杀死的孩
子那个梦，也不太好解释。
而多数派难以解释的是两个人物，一个是Gorge，最后光头医生很简单地解释说Gorge怨
恨Teddy是因为Teddy把Gorge打成那个样子，但从他们的对话听来，Gorge明显不是那个
意思，他的确说自己出去过一次，不可能再出去第二次了，而且也告诉他，如果要查出

发帖数: 6102 | 14 我想，这条路大概是我的curse。去年走了三次方才走通，而走通的一次也还没有真正
找到Bay Tree Trail的入口。这次希望圆圆满满地走完全程，不想功败垂成，最后
在小河沟里翻船。
我承认，帖子中没有将困难写足，即便是10mile的路程，在夏季里，在没有维护的
trail上，对体力的消耗也还是不小。
我们一行六人，四只菜鸟，荒径山谷中穿行。谧而多彩的世界里，什么都觉得新鲜。一
位mm嚷着，多漂亮的枫叶！便要上去徒手采摘Poison Ivy, 着实吓了俺一身冷汗。
这条路线，我早已了然胸，再加上时不时可以看到前人留下的红丝带，不断提示着我们
的方向。说说笑笑间我们已经到达了野营帐篷处。
四周静谧如初，似乎我们是它唯一的拜访者。blue gorge的刻痕依然清晰。
从废弃的帐篷处到blue gorge的trail如同去年走时一样的艰难，也不见了红丝带的痕
迹。灌木早已掩盖了蹊径，只在偶尔几处还可以看到去年我开路时留下的刀痕。令人高兴
的是几只菜鸟们在俺，还有500米，还有400米。。。的鼓励下，都坚持来到了这如世外
桃源般的blue gorge。

7/3从三番出发，共6天时间， 犹豫不决是该one way car rental, fly back还是双程
开车， 主要想去以下地方
crater lake (定了2nights camping， hiking + 坐船)
Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway
Columbia River Gorge + Mt Hood Scenic Loop(计划1天）
难以决定的是从crater lake到Columbia River Gorge 是走coast还是走内陆Bend一线
。如果coast, 可能走走停停路上需要更多时间， 这样飞回来比较好。如果走bend 一
线， 一天能到gorge, 回程开车也没问题。
到底哪个路线好呢？ Oregon coast 和加州coast 风景差异大吗？ 和Olympia 那边的
海岸比呢？

commercial passenger flight stop in that airport. Some of the small
airports serve as a stop for small airline.

东西可买，你可以在网上看看有什么店。如果要那个方向，就一起去一下吧，外加上
Multnomah Falls。看River Gorge好一些的点儿是 Women's Forum State Scenic
Viewpoint和Vista House。
如果天气好能见度高，去波特兰城里的话可以去那个The Grotto乘电梯上去看景。天气
不好的话就不要去了 |

We might forget the Chili but keep the Gorge section.
Chili has 6 fatals and Gorge only one.
The only one happen show it was on high water. That's why I came to

所以觉得科州的山还是挺有特色的，各具风情。某些地方和四川九寨沟有些异曲同工之
妙。
行程：
第0天：取车。我们在机场租的车，租车一切顺利，但是拿到车的时候发现忘了一件事
，就回去租车公司。结果在还车的路口被警察逮了，不由分说罚了款。那是个很奇怪的
路口，两道只能左转一道直行或右转，估计很多人会走错道，警察就在路对面守株待兔
。大家以后小心。
第1天：去了Denver西面200mile左右的一个小镇，叫做Vail.冬天是个滑雪胜地，但夏
天游客不多。小镇非常漂亮，我们坐了缆车上山， 然后hike了一段。 山上到处开着野
菊花，非常好看。
第2天：去了仰慕已久的Rocky Mountain。 LG来之前就嚷嚷着一定要爬著名的longs
peak，无奈我的苦苦哀求，再加上没征到同伴才悻悻作罢。我们7点从Denver出发，到
bear lake的时候差不多9点。沿着Bear lake转了转便开始走一条通向flattop

诉说着心里的爱恋，很平静，有点忧伤。去找伴奏的时候又找到了Gorge Michael的版
本。婉转的男声陪上他姣好的面容和gay的背景，实在是骚得不行。我把两个都听了很
多遍，虽然用的伴奏是Gorge Michael版的，我想我最后的演唱还是和他们两个都不同
，多了点悲愤和撕裂。
最后说一遍那个坑爹的youtube伴奏，几乎是只有节奏没有旋律，还不带歌词，害我多

我却要说，让我流连忘返的最爱，是离我家门口不远的Potomac河上的Great Falls。就是DC beltway Exit 43 或44出去一点点就到了。
great falls水势盛大，宛如中学课本上读到的长江三峡一般（这边叫Mather Gorge）。如果说钱江潮奔腾时如千军万马，那great falls恐怕就只有一条巨龙在咆哮，还有几条小龙，吐的水小点慢点。

虽然是揭秘，不过是捕风捉影，没有任何数据和实验的支持，而且也和我们的地理知识
相互冲突。所以需要特地为此驳斥一下：
陆地主要水源主要来自于季风携带的水蒸气。冷暖空气相遇造成降雨或者降雪。季风高
度在10几公里到几公里（高原地区）。所以几百米高的建筑对降雨是根本没有影响的。
如果因此就能阻止降雨，那么上海，北京周围岂不是暴雨成灾？
三峡建成水库，实际上就是形成大面积的水面，但是说大，也才1000余平方公里，它对
地区气候会有影响，但是如果能影响到整个长江流域就太夸张了。相比三峡水库，洞庭
湖面积从将近3000平方公里猥琐到800多平方公里，鄱阳湖从将近4000平方公里萎缩到
1300平方公里，这才更严重。怎么不把严酷天气都算到这些湖身上？三峡水库建立之前

against three Gorge, said it's going to cause YangTsz river to be filled
just like Yellow river.

Although I don't have much time recently to water with all of you, I still
browse here pretty often. Please write as much as you could. Good read and
food for thought.
I am going to Lijiang this weekend. Have read more than 30 "strategy" blogs
for attacking Tiger Leaping Gorge. But since safety is #1, #2, and #3
concerns in this trip, I might just go to the most popular tourist spots without
hiking through the gorge. What a pity! Anyway, Lijiang is such a nice pla |

走Inter State 93 North，32号出口转112 West，6 mile on the right hand side。
这里有两个玩处，一是买票进峡谷中去玩，不大，1 mile距离，但是有很多石洞可以钻，
而且谷中风景不错，木头搭件的栈道曲回蜿蜒，很有意思。
另外一个玩处不要钱，在停车场旁边，有一条trail可以爬。这个trail是爬谷边一个很陡
的山，不要背太多东西，因为需要手脚并用。沿路有蓝色油漆作的标志。这个被公园列为
“diffcult”的trail有0。75mile长，上去以后会和另外一条比较缓的路Kingsman
Trail汇合，标记改为白色。这条Kingsman Trail很长，连绵数个山，我们爬了2 mile的
路，碰上一对美国登山族，从Trail的另外一头爬上来，说我们才爬了1/10，他们是开两
个车，一辆停这头，再开一辆去那头开爬的。这个Kingman Trail在Lost River的进口也
在112上面，比Lost River Gorge的大门再往西大约600米，公路左边有一停车场，右边是
Trail进 |

秃树了。今年降温很快，红得早。
Day trip的推荐景点:
沿I-93北上，进入Franconia Notch State Park以后先去Flume Gorge，一个很短的
round trip，漂亮的瀑布。在此可以买Flume Gorge和
Cannon Mt.的联票，省两块钱。大约2-3小时转一圈吧。
然后开车北上大约6miles，在34B出去坐Cannon Mt. Tram上山顶，山顶有个小
observation tower，此处是不用爬山就可以看风景的绝佳之处，大家参看Boston的照
片就行了。对面Mt. Lafayette山顶还是皑皑白雪，山腰一下一片红叶，在夕阳的照耀
下非常漂亮。
如果还有时间可以去Lafayette campground的停车场，这里是多条hiking trail的起点
，难度不一。可以找range要一张trail map，然后开爬。 |

发帖数: 4232 | 50 1。Garden of Gods，Air force Academy 和Royal gorge bridge 可以安排在一天，
都不用太长时间。
2。Pikes Peak要花一天时间，好处是爬不上去的话可以再开车或坐小火车上去，
至少能在 14er高山上感觉一下稀薄空气。
3。大沙丘前段时间好玩，现在太热，就是去也只能在靠近日落的时候玩了。也
可以考虑玩了1。后开过去住在那边，离Royal gorge bridge不是太远了。
4。漂亮是漂亮，有点远，要用两天的时间。Maroon Bells山是目前目标之一。
5。Mt. Evans要花一天，如果不是练习用不算必去的景点之一。
6。RMNP开车一天逛玩，如果要走进去一天就不够了。
7。Long's 看前面感觉，喜欢户外运动的值得一去。 |
