orcle server 也管了一年多呀,vi editor shortcut 我也可以用一半。谁不懂
partition table啦，我的习惯是动手前多research，多做准备工作，不至于出问题后
后悔。如果有前人经验，为什么不学习一下呢。
在此文中已经提供了重新resize partition的方法（https://help.ubuntu.com/
community/HowtoResizeWindowsPartitions），我想知道的是在现有3个primary分区的
情况下，是resize 现有的C: partition to another two primary partition, 还是在
现有的C：partition划logic partition. 两种方法那种跟适合我的情况。
真的很受不了你说话的口气。我全奖Master in Information System,7年国内国外
system admin的经验，被你说得什么都不懂一样。气人。

然后剩下的空间用 windows 自己就可以 resize volume。
这个有个开源的工具应该也可以， gparted 的 USB image。

我经常用 Fedora Live USB 启动，让后 yum install gparted

gparted in the LiveCD to install it.
The gparted doesnot need to be install in the finial Linux.
Yes, I assume you install Windows already.
The boot loader I recommand using rEFIt. Enable legacy OS
by default. Then it will go the old boot sector and boot
Grub. From the grub you can boot windows. So it is:
rEFIt -> Grub -> Linux or Windows. |

Image, so I used the freeware Clonezilla.
to store the clone image. Copied the image back to the new, larger HDD.
the same way... including the partitions! New drive is about 200GB
bigger, so there was 200GB of unused, unpartitioned space on new HDD.
used GParted, another free software, to increase the partition. Again, I
used the USB flash drive to boot into GParted.

# 先选 Try Fedora
# yum install -y gparted
# gparted /dev/sda
然后把那个 /dev/sda4， 就是 windows 分区缩小大概 150G 左右。
apply。
# 再选择图形安装，全部 Default。
选择带 150G 空间的硬盘。
# 重起就好啦。那个 UEFI 安装很顺利，什么改动都不需要。
验证 Windows 还是能用。
Grub 进入 Windows 8 也可以用。 |

你可以实验一下把windows 分区缩小到 250G 然后再 backup/restore。
我用 Fedora LiveCD USB 的 gparted 做过类似的事情。
可以用 gparted shrink， 然后 ntfsclone -s 和 ntfsclone -r 通过网络来
拷贝 ntfs。你要是不熟悉 Linux 就还是用 Windows backup/restore。 |

在最初安装Ubuntu 8.10／XP双启动系统的时候，我设置Ubuntu的/home为独立的10GB分
区，而／分区为46GB。我的Ubuntu一直使用的很好。但是现在，我发现/home分配的
10GB分区太小了（已经占用了89％），而／分区46GB却还剩有很大的37GB unused
space.
所以，我就想把/home分区大小从10GB增加到30GB，而／分区大小从46GB减少到26GB，
请问有什么办法或软件工具可以实现这种Ubuntu分区大小的修改？
我已经试过GParted(GNOME Partition Editor, v0.3.8), 在我点击需要修改的／分区
或者／home分区时，GParted的resize/move 功能菜单是disabled（变成灰色的选项）
，使我无法修改分区大小。我不太愿重装Ubuntu, 请求解决方法，愿包子感谢。 |

不行。
从来没遇到过，以前用server的kernel没这个问题，这次用pae之后，就发现了。
而且现在卸了pae，再装server，又回到pae kernel了。搞不懂了。

If you install windows + mac + linux. It is very tricky
about the partitions. Mac takes two partitions. GPT and mac file
system. windows takes one. and Linux need to take one as well.
There are only 4 main partitions. It is all taken that way.
Just use live CD, install gparted, shrink the windows partition
and install linux. Make sure list the linux /boot or / (without /boot)
in the first partition other than macos and windows.

vista is not detected afterwards. Then I have to do a disk to disk copy,
things works fine.
Also used GParted to resize the partition, after which windows vista won't
start. Inserted the installation cd and did a repair, things are fine now. |

tool called 'gparted'. you need to download it & burn it into cd & run it
thru cdrom. It allows you to remark/unmark active partitions.
I guess vista/win 7 might be able to recover from this type of errors by
running the recovery application included with the installation disk.. not
sure about xp though.

1) 用笔记本下载一个GParted，刻盘，然后放台式光驱中启动，FOLLOW，删除分区，
然后用VISTA重启安装
2）用笔记本下载一个Fedora Live或Ubuntu Live CD，刻盘，然后放台式光驱中启动,
然后启动文件管理器之类的，你可以直接删除你硬盘上的不用的文件，清理出足够空间
，然后拿出光盘，如果你原来的系统没问题就直接启动了，连重装都不用，你的有用的
文件还可以保存。当然你也可以删分区重格
当然你也一下载一个U盘的版本，这样就不用刻CD了，但你要会设置从USB启动
3）找或20刀买一个Diablotek EN3525D Hard Drive Docking Station或其他的也可以
，然后拆除你台式机硬盘，把硬盘插入，然后接到你笔记本USB上，然后你就可以在你
笔记本读取这个硬盘了，清理还是删分区都可以
4）买个新硬盘装上，装系统，然后把旧硬盘装上，你还可以读其中的文件。 |

7M左右还凑合跟e3000一样，好像覆盖范围比e3000差点儿？但是能覆盖我的乳房了。无
线拷贝的速度还没测试。
现在我的垃圾由装了西红柿，带一块硬盘，一个打印机，另外开asterisk。

。有个问题，那个U盘的小红灯不停地闪，如果插到windows机器上没有读写就不会闪。
听说读写次数太多U盘容易挂，我猜测是log file或者swap分区造成的。
我学习的攻略说要个swap分区好，所以我设了个400多兆的。结果今天看到另一个攻略
说swap不好，容易搞坏U盘。
总而言之，我想用个8G的U盘，不设swap分区，然后把2G的上面所有东西tarball到8G的
U盘上，结果pogoplug灯是亮了，但是不能ping。
想问问高手，怎么clone linux bootable的U盘。我是先把源盘根目录全部tar了，然后
把8G的目标盘用gparted format成ext3，然后把tarball在目标盘根目录展开。这样行
吗？
还有个令我困惑的问题，2G的盘用fdisk看是fat16 ，可是用mount显示是ext2。 |

直接安装Linux, 如果是Ubuntu系列的话在安装界面某一步可以选择给硬盘分出linux
分区来的(有个选项选最底下的"something else"), 或者安装之前用live USB上面的
gparted, 有GUI界面的, 神一般的分区软件...
如果你的笔记本是预装Win8的话... 还是虚拟机吧, 或者网上搜搜看别的dual-boot的
教程... 一般这种本子都是UEFI+GPT, 对Linux很不友好的...
笔记本的CPU跑虚拟机一般都比较吃力, 我的本子CPU是i5-2410M, 开虚拟机跑Ubuntu很
慢(当然也有可能是CPU老了), 所以我最终选择了双系统...
我现在的笔记本就是128G的SSD, Win7+Ubuntu双系统, 跑得好好地... |
