什么和其它cruise line比起来要便宜那么多， 但是还是毫不犹豫地下了单。到了船上
，和所有人一样享受到了热情周到的服务，心里不禁盘算着如何给好小费的问题。大概
第三天的样子吧，收到船方发出的信息：我们建议你按下面的数字慷慨地给船上的员工

，不管服务是好还是不好，我都不会给服务员脸子看。在我的菜上全之前不要抱怨（盐
量的特殊要求除外）不管菜好吃不好吃都不会要求回锅，并且绝对拒绝饭店的offer的
免费道歉菜。
那我这个16.5%的无条件小费实际变成了那个网友所说的劳务费，这个不是因为我需要
或者有义务给他这个劳务费，而是不愿意让人背后咒我。我的原则是如果服务不好或者
菜不好，下次不去就是了。
对于小费，按照维基的说法雇主有义务把员工没达到最低工资的部分补齐，这就说明服
务了工作了但是还是没有达到最低工资是合理的情况。这个结果可以由两个原因之一或
者是两者的综合因素，1：顾客来的太少，2：顾客给的小费太少。
要研究小费到底该不该给，只是看“tipped wage in the United States”还不全面，
还要好好研究“Gratuity”和“principle-agent problem”. 虽然多烂的饭馆我都会
付我16.5%的小费，但我认为作为顾客我有权利不给小费，但不给小费（0%）是极端的
情况。

低。所以这个自动加小费不是什么大问题。你如果不是六人(含)以上，你可以把原小费
划掉另给。
相比之下，我还更喜欢店家手写小费和总额。有些店家直接把小费包括在打印小票的总
额里，还下面留出行来让你加小费。很多客人不小心就Double tip了。

现在拿到一所澳洲tier2大学职位后，他们取回了5年香港强积金和退税65万HKD。

菜谱的fineprint上都有这一条，就餐的人要不就是孤陋寡闻，要不就是不仔细，要不
就是WS想省5毛钱。
再讲讲消费税前税后算的问题，如果一两个人就餐，小费本来就是顾客酌情给的，你爱
怎么算怎么算（理论上是税前的百分比）。
对于group就餐的这种Mandatory服务费，加州税务局是有规定要算税的。所以最后要付
的钱是：
N x (1+15%) x (1+ 9.75%)
如果税后再算消费，顾客付的钱是一样的：
N x (1+ 9.75%) x (1+15%)
但是税务局不愿吃亏，服务费也要交消费税。

那次打电话是非常神秘的一个事情。对方本来是要给另一个人打电话的，刚拿起电话，
还没拨号，就听见我的broken english在里面说话，吓了一大跳。:-) 我就在几秒钟之
前忽然冲动起来打电话，在那0.1秒内正好拨通，之前之后都不行。
那家餐馆的bill里主动加了gratuity。比如本来40刀，上来就是48刀，8刀的gratuity
夹在一堆dish里面列着。但是低下仍然有Tip这一项。我看不懂，又加了9刀6。。。黑
店呐。 |

成一道菜，不然你付了两次小费。
人少一般不加。不过加不加应该是餐馆的policy. |

听说苏菲和中菲也有类似的安排，感觉类似香港的gratuity bearing contract。只不
过香港的高校打广告的时候不会把gratuity算在工资里面，国内的高校是乱七八糟全部
算在一起。

发帖数: 70028 | 43 小账又称小费，而广东俗语更有几个其他称呼。我最欣赏是香港的一些老人家还应该记得的「金梳」一词，是英语come shore（抵岸）的谐音。源于鸦片战争后，西洋鬼子群起乘船抵港，岸上的苦力就是这样叫，而跟着食肆的侍应也这样叫了。（后来「金梳」又以谐音翻为英语cumshaw，杀进英语字典，解作赏钱。）小账西方称gratuity或tips。有三类：自愿、强迫、竞投。自愿的小账是大家熟知的到餐厅进膳或到宾馆住宿给服务员的，是多是少由顾客决定。强迫是硬性地在价单之上加一个百分率，通常加十或十五。西方称服务费（service charge）。有点怪，因为服务费已经算进餐价或房价，怎么再加呢？
竞投小账源于订价偏低
我要先谈「竞投」这项小账。没有什么值得多谈，因为少人注意，要顺便一提。一九七八年，老师阿尔钦访港，在街上见到计程车招之不停。摆明是空车，但一律不停，问我何解，我教他双手各出一指，打个「十」字，车会停下来。果然灵光，阿师回美后把这件琐事几番跟朋友说了。原来当时香港的计程车供不应求，用两指打个「十字」是说在计程表之价上补加十元小账。这是竞投的小账了。

making false advertisement of price. The tour guide can be angry about the
situation, but the tourist is entirely within his legal right to refuse
paying the tip.
In addition, tip is expected but not guaranteed for anyone working in the

小费也许是北美服务行业特有的东西，是一种没有明确规定但却是路人皆知的规矩。欧
洲很多国家和地方大都加在服务费里，小费不象美国这么慷慨和几乎硬性。给小费的多
少当然要看饭馆的档次和你得到服务的好坏，差别很大，一般说来：10%是低比例、中
等15%，好的20%甚至更多。
比如说几个人一起到餐馆吃饭，点了100块的东西，需要加法定的8.875%纽约市销售税
，另外还要再考虑给158到20%的小费，总共就得近130快。
小费在西方残酷竞争的资本主义社会里，一开始有其根源和存在的合理性。
首先，端盘子伺候人看人脸色的活在任何社会都是低端的，也很多是临时性的，因为这
活不需要多大的技术，差不多每个人都可以上阵，所以作为饭店饭馆老板就只会给最低
的工资，很多只给服务生时新一美元或两美元工钱，不乏甚者，有些（中）餐馆甚至一
分工钱都不出，服务生就只靠挣客人小费。这在法律上违不违反最低工资标准法，是一
个边缘地带问题，我们也不去追究讨论，反正社会现实就是这样。
你到餐馆就座，您就是座上客，您就是有闲钱的老板。你想要什么，做什么样，完全您
