前段时间版上嘀咕沃而沃这车没人买什么的，当时就想上来吭一声，这volvo在我们东
北疙瘩还是横行天下的，路上很多见。
这车我开了两年多了，买的时候，仔细根mdx比较了一下，两个车价格差不多，但是同
样价格，mdx配置要好一些，尤其是mdx的内部装修，看上去volvo要好，能方东西的地
方多，这volvo的设计吧，小处上真是没人性， 到现在我都不知道纸巾盒子可以放哪里
，真是的，在车里丢来丢去，最后这盒子总是惨不忍睹。
当时驾驶的时候，操作感也是mdx轻松，动力感觉也是mdx好
至于为什么最后选择了volvo呢， 也没有什么理由，就是年少时候喜欢欧洲车，就这么
着，最后还是奔着年少时候的一个梦想而去了。
开了两年多了，总体感觉还好，没有什么毛病，就是换轮胎的时候小心痛了一下， 两

车的支出连保险在内不超过税前总收入的10%。也就是说一个赚五万三的人只能买一万

如果是biweekly的话,应该是每两个星期的gross是: 97500/26=3750
你老公的工资应该是net而不是gross, 也就是3750的gross减去tax withhold, medical
insurance, 401k,life insurance, union due等等各种杂费.

下profitability ratios. Profitability ratio可以包括很多。
1) 第一个就是gross margin (sales-cost of goods sold)/sales：公司卖了很多
产品从用户那收了好多钱，那产品也是要成本的。刨掉成本后剩多少就是从gross
margin 反应
的。去年Intel第一次亏钱时他的gross margin 也降了很多令analyst都很惊讶。是一
个重要的
指标。在我的model里，我间接用的cost of goods sold/sales. 不难看出吧：1-
Cogs/sales=gross margin.
2) 第二个是SG&A/Sales (selling, general , administrative/sales)。反映
的是市场销售花销，人员花 |

多谢。还有另外一个问题，在NY IT-203里面第31项，让我填New York adjusted gross
income， 里面有两项，一个是FEDERAL GORSS INCOME,另外一个是NY的GROSS INCOME
。我两个都填了。然后第32项，Enter the amount from line 31, Federal amount
column，我把FEDERAL的GROSS INCOME填上去，问题出现了。当我出去DEDUCTION以后，
36项New York taxable income是用FEDERAL GROSS INCOME去算的，这样就不对了啊？
等于把我在别的州的钱也算进去了。我怎么也看不懂了，请指教，谢谢 |

看来我语文太差了， 去年的9w 多，是扣掉我一个人的那些deduction的之后gross
income。 我比较熟悉自己一个人的deduction都怎么算，去年用的是5000的treaty （
08年我用opt工作）＋8k州税的itemized deduction＋moving expense， 从11w的wage
降到9w多的gross income
今年的12w，是没有deduction之前的 －－－ 去年同期的没有deduction的，我的wages
是11w多。 我lg去年都在折腾找工作、换工作，w2上wage也就1w出头。 本来我以为
我们合在一起， 会有更多的deduction， 在总wage没有明显增多的时候， gross 会
下降很多，而且married filed jointly的税率又低。 没有想到 总的wage 多1w多、又
是2个人， gross income反倒升了。 |

L簽證，過來的時候相關Moving的費用公司已經報銷了，按道理自己不需要再做
deduction了
但是在核對W-2表格的時候發現一個問題，把每個月的gross pay加起來比W-2的gross
pay少，差不多是moving expenses的錢，這樣的情況下，我到底要不要報moving
expenses呀？
（或者，本身每個月的gross pay加起來就可能和w-2的gross pay不匹配？）

她可能稀里糊涂填了W-4的表 然后2009年和今年都收到了1042-S表和W2表
2009年保税她的W2上面Box 1有900多的wages 税就预扣了$36
然后1042-S上面有1000多的gross income（income code 19） 加起来总和就是她2009
年的奖学金工资（学费免掉了）这个总和也是W2 Box 18 Local Wages Tips第一行的数
目 （第二行是W2 Box 1的数目）2009年我们是First year choice， 联合按照R报税，
就我申了Treaty
2010年也是收到了W2，1042S以及1098-T 这次 W2 Box 1是空的，W2上面只有box 18有
数目 这个数目和1042 S上面Gross Income的数目一样
（1） 像这样我们今年联合报税 是不是她那边就没什么收入需要填了，只有我的收入
需要填？
（2） 另外，我总觉得这个是错的 是不是她不应该收到1042 S表 而且2009年那1000多的

我的联邦税填得还是比较利索，问题主要出在加州州税上。这里跟大家分享一下，希望
对一些跟我一样困惑的XDJM有所帮助。不过我需要特别申明的是我也是一知半解，希望
高手能给更精确的解答：
我最开始３年是J１身份，所以一直可以免联邦税，这样一来，我的W２表的１和２都是
０。
在填州税５４０NR (short form)的时候，第１３行（Enter federal adjusted gross
income from Form 1040, line 37; Form 1040A, line 21; Form 1040EZ, line 4;
Form 1040NR, line 35; or Form 1040NR-EZ, line 10）是０。
第１４行(Unemployment compensation and military pay adjustment) 也是０。
这样一来第１７行 Adjusted gross income from all sources. Subtract line 14
from line 13应该也是０才成立。

income没有和联邦税那边的gross income一致，收入只是我一人的收入而不是家庭收入
报的，所以要补上那一部分。而事实是，那一年我和LG在不同的州，所以我们联邦税是
合一起报的，州税是分开各自给各自州报的。我打电话给他们，得到的答案是：OHIO州
税必须和联邦税的报法一致，包括我们必须以Joint的名义报，而且gross income必须
和联邦一致，只是我们的情况，可以在另一个表里有一项填上LG是non-resident，所以
最后结算的时候还是只用交我一个人的钱，所以结论是我们不欠钱，但必须重新做
paperwork. 好，我们就打算着手这么办了。
现在的问题是：我LG在按他们的要求重填表的时候才发现，很坑爹的是，当时用的HR
BLOCK网上的免费软件报的联邦税，按照网上的步骤填的，但是没有发现我们的联邦税
gross income并不是我们俩的W2的总和，而是我们俩W2再加上FSA的总和，相当于我们

employee and employer交的Social security taxes去了一个叫social security
trust funds的地方，这些钱有专门的borad进行管理。一般来说只要我们领工资或是自
雇都要交social security taxes.
2013年的social security tax rate 是6.2%, maximum base wage 是$113，700.也就
是说在113，700以前是按你工资的比例收取，一旦工资超过113，700了，就不会再扣取
social security tax了。
举个例子：
employee A 2013 的gross wage 是 $113，700, A 所交的social security tax 为：
113，700*6.2%=7049.40
employee B 2013 的gross wage 是$123,700, B 所交的social security tax 为：

treaty似乎自己claim多了。
自己是纯TA/RA，spring. fall都有fellowship（that is how PhD office name this
money）打到账户上，summer有5000的fellowship。PHD office写信说那些所谓的
fellowship都要交税，除非相应国家有tax treaty exemption.
2013年税表收到:
1. W2 Wages - 8600多, tax withheld $783
两份1042-S
2.1 1042-S with income code 19, gross income 5000, tax rate 0, exemption
code 04, federal tax withheld 0

1. 因为LG刚毕业，收入不够担保我申请，所以LG爸爸联合担保。LG爸爸和妈妈过去一
直是联合报税，LG也一直作为dependent，LG爸爸前三年的w2，1099加上pension那些加
起来有6万左右，应该足够担保我，所以就不需要LG妈妈填写I-864A了对吧？
2. 但是在填写LG爸爸的I-864时，他今年的收入是按照去年w2+1099上面的数额填写么
？因为1099那部分投资每年的回报率都不太一样，而且w2每年也都有变化。
3. 关于过往三年的收入，I-864的instruction上面说要看1040上面的gross income来
决定收入额，我看了他们联合报税的1040，上面除了两人w2和1099的收入，还要加加减
减一堆其他的收入支出才得出gross income。我有几种想法，不知道哪个比较正确,求
意见，跪谢了~
a. 填写w2和1099的总和；

我也把一个朋友的经验给你分享一下, 以作参考.
你们多挖了1000个那么多，也不知道我朋友的经验对你们有没有帮助.
去年我有个朋友在whidbey island挖clam也这样被抓了. 原因是两个人只有一张执照(女方没有SSN卡以为不能买执照), 而且一共比允许量多了45个. 警察一共给他们开了三张罚单:
--- 女方: 没买执照一张, 超量一张;
--- 男方: 超量一张;
(罚单上注明: 必须上庭)
当时警察就说了, 这是Gross Misdemeanor. 虽然罚款只有几百, 但会有案底, 影响H1

看了新税改，做了简单计算，
先说结论：对于单身，在12%这个临界点上下，差别还是很大的。基于以下计算，对于
新税法草案，6万的税后收入是$48,000，而5.5万的税后收入是$49,840，反而高了。这
样小企业主们的福音到了，不用加薪了，加了也白加。这种一刀切的税率，是不是很搞
笑！
案例1: 单身，税前6万，
1. 目前税法
Standard Deduction: $6300
Personal Exemption: $4050
Adjusted Gross Income: $49650
Tax: $8190 (from IRS table)
2. 新税法草案
Standard Deduction: $12000
Adjusted Gross Income: $48000
Tax (25%): $12000

one analyst has said he believes Apple "stepped up" and helped to pay for

我们第一年基本都是AP和autopsy call. AP的schedule基本上是7：30am到5:00pm. 一
天grossing,一天sign out big cases,之中穿插lecture和biopsy.如果on autopsy
call,那就啥活都不用干，专门等autopsy.
Grossing: 就是orient标本和dictate有点不习惯，但是感觉慢慢在变好，因为我们是
sub-specialized,所以不用一个人处理所有的标本，grossing day 最多干活干到六点
多，如果有太多的标本，院总就自己给弄完了，这一点实在是很spoil我们了。
Sign out big cases: 这个挺有意思，就是找attending pathologist一起sign out,和
他们边聊天边学东西。不同的attending喜好都不一样，所以现在gross的时候拿不准都
会打电话问一下或者直接叫他们来。
Program对我们这两个月的要求是熟悉正常的histology,感觉要求挺靠谱，就是自己没啥太大的motivation学习，先检讨一下。

Q 取得了赢利, 这确实是非常 surprising 的. 很多分析师也都没有
预料到. 这里要指出几点:
1. LDK 的 20% gross margin 部分得益于 loss provision reversal.
就是说上季度的多晶硅 write down 太多了, 这个季度把给它 write up
一下. underlying gross margin 大概是 16%. 这个 gross margin 仍然
是非常惊人的. 要知道, 从多晶硅到最终产品, 他的 gross margin 也就
只能做到 20%. 这里主要可能是LDK 的长期协议起了作用. 这个长期协议
价格能不能维持是个 question mark, 因为 wafer 的价格仍然在下跌.
而最近Q-cell 的事情, 说明Q-cell 已经修改了协议了, 取得了更低的价格.
2. 这个季度 solar demand 出现了井喷式的增长. 但这里要指出的是,
