我通常是为大牛们通风报信，拿鱼竿绑rig什么的。。呵呵
十月是麻州海钓的好时候，唯一的负面因素是海况往往难以预料。近海Sea bass还没离
开，tautog开始进来，striper和bluefish也还有个尾声。Offshore的cod/pollock/
haddock等groundfish因为dogfish的迁徙比较好钓，big game有tuna和shark。School
tuna （50-150lb）是最好的时机之一，但是bluefin tuna一向是hit or miss，行踪难
测。Shark还没南下，shark trip空军的机会几乎没有，同时还可以jigging
groundfish，可以考虑。
如果海上大风大浪，charter小船出海不太容易，有经验的船长3-5尺的浪还是会出海，
但是上船的钓手不一定受得住颠簸。3-5尺以上的浪，建议坐大船party boat出海。
十月我唯一有空的是13号那个周末，可能出海玩玩，具体计划还在考虑之中。和local

发帖数: 1443 | 3 休息了一天，现在和大家分享一下经过吧。
这次去的海域是Stellwagen bank以东的深海区。以前给大家介绍过，Stellwagen bank
是东海岸著名的渔场，位于cape Ann和Cape cod之间，南北19mile，东西6mile， 是一
片从海底升起的plateau。在bank的西端，海底从300尺深急剧上升至不到100尺深，在
bank的东端，水底由西向东从150-200尺逐渐加深到800尺左右，然后急剧dropoff，这
就是所谓的大陆架的末端。在这一片海域，由于有巨大的水深空间， 而且邻近食物丰
富的stellagen bank，是大型捕食性鱼类聚集的场所。暖水类鲨鱼每年七月开始大量进
入这片水域，到十月开始离开。每年8，9月是钓blue shark的最佳时机。 我选了这个
时机，这片海域，找了一位charter 船长，正好有local的老美父子俩也有此意，于是
我们三个人一起charter。
预料到这会是重体力活，所以我一个星期都早睡早起，每天9：30睡觉，5点起床，猛吃
蔬菜水果，储备体力。周五晚上准备好食物和水，早早睡觉，周六2：30AM准时起床,

发帖数: 1443 | 4 这时tide停下来了，现在是slack tide，会有一个小时左右的时间水流缓慢，chum的味
道传播的慢一些，鲨鱼来的慢，但是水流小了，bottom jigging容易的多，我又拿起
jigging rod开始钓groundfish。看看水深，我们已经飘到450尺水深的区域了，再过一
个小时我们就会飘到700 尺深的区域，outgoing tide开始，水流又会急起来。那样的
水深和水流，bottom jigging是不可能的，除非是Hulk用3 lb的jig来玩，呵呵。我抓
紧这个time window，钓上3条cusk，2 条pollock，最大的一条15lb左右。 Roy拿了一
条小点的pollock做live bait，其他的鱼fillet for dinner。 剩下的骨架剁碎了扔进
水里做chum。
水流又急起来，看看depth finder，水深已到550尺，船上最重的jig也只有18
oz，我知道现在bottom jigging只会是徒劳无功，干脆就放弃了groundfishing，一心
一意蓄精养锐斗鲨鱼。 |

发帖数: 1443 | 8 我也勉强算一个吧。主要是在New England jigging groundfish，seabass/cod/
pollock/haddock， 以conventional reel为主，主要用Norweigian jig和diamond jig
。Jigging style是yo yo jigging和squidding。希望今年升级到tuna。
Speed jigging没玩过，NE这一带好像大家都在yo yo，因为主要目标鱼是bottom fish
，而不是pelagic， tuna除外，而且tuna也能yo yo。今年开始玩speed jigging吧。
谁教教我crappie jigging吧。玩1/16 oz的crappie jig肯定和16 oz的Norweigian jig

一下我常去的几个海域之一吧，版上XD们在计划fishing vacation时，也能有个参考。
今天给大家介绍Stellwagen bank。参照版规，基于对钓点的保护，具体的GPS坐标就不
公开了。
Stellwagen Bank是Gulf of Maine 深海钓的主要去处之一，在东海岸，stellwagen
bank简直就成了cod 的代名词。实打实的说，stellwagen bank大概是世上钓cod的最好
去处。除了cod，这片海域还盛产haddock，pollock，cusk这些“meat fish”。
Bluefin tuna是这里的常客，每年六月初到十月底，几乎每天都有幸运的钓客得以体验
奋战金枪鱼的激动和tuna sashimi的美味。Blue shark，porbeagle shark，mako
shark也是这里gamefish的重要组成部分。对于旅游者来说，Stellwagen Bank也是出海

发帖数: 1443 | 11 深水钓Bait可以考虑用circle hook。不需要set hook。你说的feel the bottom是很对
的。除了pollock，Jefferey ledge的其他groundfish都是在底部不往上游的。
试试jigging吧，不用担心bait没了。更active。 |

发帖数: 1443 | 12 俺是海钓大老粗，爱好暴力拉大鱼。New England 常见的groundfish，cod/haddock/
pollock/cusk/redfish等等，居住于200-500尺的水深，Gulf Of Maine洋流湍急，钓这
些鱼经常需要重的jig。我最常用的lure 是Norweigian jig，重量从12oz到24 oz，根
据鱼群深度和水流速度而定。Norwegian jig是diamond jig的一个变种，尾端厚重，一
面为弧形，前端稍细。Yo-Yo jigging 是常用的手法。cast up current ，让jig随水
流下沉，到底后快速挑起，再下沉，模拟herring/mackerel。我用这个jig钓到的鱼有
pollock/cod/haddock/cusk/redfish，还有些意外之中的东西，包括dogfish，sculpin
，herring，whiting，mackerel，sandeel，clam，starfish。。。
这张照片上的是不同size的Norwegian jig，从上到下依次是24oz， 21oz，18 oz，
16oz， 12 oz。 |

发帖数: 1443 | 13 sexybass问到，我就简单讲讲我们New England的bottom jigging吧。 我可不是什么牛
人，bottom jigging算是我常用的钓法之一吧。
New England的常见meat fish是cod/pollock/haddock，这些都是groundfish，在水底
活动，适合bottom jigging，而不是南方常见的vertical jigging，主要针对全部
water column活动的predator fish。
Bottom jigging的最常见set up是jig加teaser。 我拿了船上一根Okuma
Andros jigging rod/Cedros reel, 80lb 主线，60lb mono leader，9oz stingo jig,
pink cod fly teaser. 向船飘的方向把jig甩出去，这叫Cast into the drift, 由于
船是移动的， 等jig沉到底，就差不多是垂直了，重要的action是bounce the bottom

可今年rockfishing season: 5/1-11/15, 6个半月. 这个additional two and a half
months怎么算的?
搞明白了. QOH去钓鱼的地方在north-central south of point arena groundfish management area, 今年season是6/13-10/31. 这个对capitola意义不大. 不知道monterey south-central是不是也会extended. |
