I think this team peaked a bit earlier. They could use an 11 game streak at
a better time! :)
Phillies offense has been inconsistent at best. Starting pitching wise, Roy
Halladay has not been great in the last month. Hamels just got knocked
around today. Oswalt seems to be the best one among these three, but he will
be used as a No. 3 pitcher. And Phillies bullpen is a mess.

Now, Phillies losing streak has reached 8. I am very concerned. If anything,
this reminds a Phillies phan of 1964, when Phillies had a 6 1/2 lead with
12 games to play yet managed to have a colossal collapse and not to make
the playoffs. Another example was 2007 collapse of Mets. When losing
becomes regular, it is difficult to recover no matter how good the team
is.

coming off the payroll. And now Madson. Lidge and Oswalt were
bought out. Cost for that close to 4 mil.
However, Cliff Lee will have a hefty raise (his contract was
designed in such a way that in his first year he was paid only
11 million dollars. In 2012 it will jump to over 20 million.
Cole Hamels is arbitration eligible. Chances are he will demand
over 15 million. Hunter Pence, too. This team still needs to
sign a shortstop.
