发帖数: 10422 | 1 昨天一个同事搬家，东西太多，租了最大号的 U-Hual，26英尺的。自己不敢开，找到
我帮他开。
接到电话后上 U-Haul 网站上查了一下介绍，这车是货箱长度 26.5'，也就是 8.08 米
（包括驾驶室顶上向前突出的那一块）。这样估计车的总长大约 9.5-10米左右。我知
道国内公交车大部分长度 12 米左右。短一些的有 10 米的，铰接式的18米以上。
学车时候拿的是 B 本，后来还开过5吨东风，解放CA141和扬州亚星。想想感觉还在，
于是答应了。
到了 U-Haul 提车。我问了两个问题：(1)手动还是自动（以前听说最大的U-Haul有手
动的）；(2)加什么油（柴油还是汽油）。回答是(1)自动；(2)87号汽油，不是柴油。
然后就是：开车，搬家，还车。一切顺利。
总的感觉：
(1) 最大的不同当然就是开大车了。转弯时候要特别小心，是 wide turn。特别是小路
右转弯的时候，都要先向左靠，转过去还要车头先上对方逆向车道再回来，才能保证后
轮不出路面。有些 SB 看到你右侧有足够的空间就从右边超车。所以向左靠的时候，还
不能太靠左，不能给右边留出一辆小车宽度的空间。

U-Haul 最小的那种，也就是福特 F-150，开起来和大 SUV 感觉差不多（如果你东西不
多的话）。
如果一定要拖，注意：
1. 自己车的 towing weight，拖车钩的技术参数，最大能拖多少。这个在 U-Haul 网
站上能查到。你去租的时候，U-Haul 工作人员会帮你 check 能不能拖，能拖多大的
trailer，并帮你挂好拖车；
2. 注意刹车距离可能会变长。当然这取决于你的车是什么车，以及拖车和载重。如果
是大 SUV 拖个小 trailer，那估计没什么大影响。如果是 compact 或者 sub-compact
小车拖个大 trailer，那就要注意了。
3. 转弯：注意你现在是 wide-turn。把你考驾照时候看的 driver's manual 拿出来看
看，里面有提到如何避让 18 轮转弯。你现在就类似 18 轮（当然没有它那么大）。
4. 有些 trailer 是有限速的，我租过 55mph 的。注意不要超过 trailer 的限速。

我开U-haul 的时候，没啥摄像头，照样开。但不表明有了摄像头没用，如果当时有这
选项肯定要。U-haul车后离得近站个人的话，死角够大，根本看不见。不说U-haul, 一
般的车也都有视线死角，你要硬说没有，以为3个镜子调来调去就全能覆盖，只能说明
你无知。 |

老婆又不能搬。找的搬家公司，感觉还可以。最近搬了一次，有了岳父岳母，本来可以
自己搬，但是一计算，租 u haul 也要80多，中国城的搬家公司只要55 per hour. 我
们只有几张床，桌和杂物。3 hours maximal. 就想算了。
找了rowland heights 一家“老中万全搬家”。结果最后花了7小时，外加上小费和油
钱。差点没给气死。原来骗钱还有这招：他们带了一个小trailer from u haul。 正常
情况下根本装不下，但是当然说能装得下，于是，闪转腾挪用了两个小时，把东西叠得
高高的。帐篷盖住包好用了一个小时，实际上搬和开车和拆家具不到四个小时。一看这
架势，肯定是老骗，argue 也没用。老中绝招，赖着不走。花钱打发算了。
其实，如果没什么病痛，搬家应该是自己的事，u haul has everything for you. 因

只有你才能想出U-Haul考驾照。$20/day的U-Haul有多大你仔细搞清楚，再看看一般农
民的pickup 如 Ford Super Duty 有多大。考过了parallel parking，U-Haul那么小的
truck还停不好？还得要20分钟？

合起来，增加前行的力量和准确性。主要在大风天气使用。Walt告诉过我，但我从来没
练习过。
Mike作的不一样。他是forward先落水，然后back cast加haul，但back cast不落水。
每次forward cast都增加一定距离，大约重复三次后达到约60ft。
他作的很轻松，但我没练过，动作不到位。back cast的力道和停的位置都可能有问题
，fly会被大风吹过来，正好贴在我身上。被fly打了以后，更不敢加力了，fly自然受
风的影响就更大了。 |

这里主要是看爆炸案后的情况, 看到几条新闻都是发现不明卡车停在某个地方,然后警
察如临大敌. 因为听说那个爆炸案的主谋还有同谋,所以每次警察得到通知发现有卡车
被偷这种情况都吓的要死. 有一辆U-haul被偷后被警察发现,因为怀疑有炸弹,警察把U-
haul锯成好几段.
这种情况,明眼人一看就知道不可能持续的,警察不可能24/7都高度紧张,总有放松的时
候. 要是疏忽的时候,再来个炸弹怎么办? 这么多人的NY,本来搞个炸弹就是防不胜防,
时代广场爆炸案未遂不过是运气, 因为主谋Shahzad做炸弹经验不足而已.
再来看爆炸案的主谋 Faisal Shahzad,也算是home grown的恐怖分子了,当然有巴基斯

pointing out is the general cases. If you know MH had the 3rd pilot, then it
's what it is. But you say 3rd pilot is the general case in such flight is
incorrect.
Most 777 fly long haul route, so they do have backup crews. But 5.5 hours is
not regarded as long haul in general. |

June, bringing its total 2017 fundraising to $75.3 million.
In a release provided first to The Hill, the RNC announced another strong
monthly haul and has $44.7 million in the bank. It's the most the RNC has
raised in June of a nonpresidential year.
RNC chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel credited the record fundraising to the

来防止恐袭。
这次恐袭的一个特点是，那辆卡车是Home Deport的rental车。看照片，卡车上什么都
没有。那么说，租赁HD卡车的人，在开始时候，目的就很明确，就是为了搞恐袭，不是
为了什么运输。
这个可能有两个结果。
第一，这种恐袭的成本很低，19美元租一辆卡车就能搞成。而且任何城市都有HD，租辆
卡车很方便，如果有driver’License（可能伪造？）。比买枪搞恐袭容易多了。中国
有好几次恐袭用汽油（在公共车上）燃烧。万幸的是，美国还没有听说用汽油搞恐袭，
那样的话，成本更低，简直防不胜防。作为示范，真是贻害无穷呀。
第二，因为车是HD这样大公司的。如果受伤者和死者家属一起和HD公司打官司，要求赔
偿，不知道结果会怎么样。如果按照美国的法律，HD的车致人死亡和受伤，车主有责任
赔偿。这样几十个受害者，一起打官司，一个重伤者如果残废，终生需要照顾和医疗，

SUV is Sport Utility Vehicle. Kind of a group name for all those big
tired, off road capable(parttime 4wd/fulltime 4wd/awd) and special suspensed
wagons or boxed pickups. Jeep should be one typical brand for this.
One significant advantage of SUV should be the hauling capacity, can
haul sport gears like boats and jetskis.
Some automakers may have other interesting name for this, like SAV(sport
activity vehicle)... but they are mainly targeted for outdoor |
