Now I'm going to quote Skiing Magazine's powder specialty skis review:
"If you can legitimately use this ski for everyday skiing, you're probably a
heli guide. For the rest of us, these skis are reserved for two-foot dumps
or more"
Here they were talking about true powder skis with the waist W=110-138cm.
Oh, BTW, the best in Skiing Mag's annual tests (at Snowbird, of course) is
K2 Pontoon 160/130/120, - two years in route. I've seen them at Snowbird,

s*****2 发帖数: 472 | 5 getting that powder in the clip most likely requires hike-up since
resort fresh get tracked up every morning. Another huge advantage of
Snowbird and Alta is their mostly not so steep terrain which
allows the resort managers happily open vast footages of untreated
powder to the public...
Tahoe is also snowing hard now, even though on radar map
the big wet dump had pretty much skipped
heading towards Utah! Right now it is covering Ruby
mountain in the middle where heli-skiers are probably having

s*****2 发帖数: 472 | 6 Indeed Mt. Rose is very special to me. I should ski there in the morning
instead of afternoon next year.
As for most liked resorts:
1. Squaw/AlpineMeadow area
2. Mt. Rose area
3. Snowbird/Alta area
4. JH/Grand Targee/Big Sky area
No particular order here, but a set with which I will be all set for the
winter. I would be very happy if I only ski in these resorts. They are all I
need. And I need them all. Going to other resorts will be a luxury to me.
Most wanted resort:

Y**s 发帖数: 1632 | 10 Yea... one day... :)
The numbers are staggering though:
"Our operating area encompasses approximately 15,000 square kilometres of
terrain, granted under Licenses of Occupation from the British Columbia
government."
15,000 sqkm?!! HOLY COW...
To put that into perspective - SNOWBIRD resort is 2500 acres, which is about 10 sqkm. Whistler/Blackcomb combined is 8200 acres, which is about 33 sqkm...
15,000 sqkm... mind boggling... |

|
s*****2 发帖数: 472 | 22 nice! you could also demo their skis in one of the good days.
They also have snowcat skiing at big sky, which could be more fun than heli-
skiing. |
|
W*****5 发帖数: 408 | 23 3 day or 5 day pass?
Be prepared to pay more for added vertical feet. Their website quotes 3 day
for 40K feet for a much higher price. I wonder how many heli rides can 20000
feet provide. Squaw's vertical drop is about 5000ft. You will have about 4-
5 runs. |

n*****a 发帖数: 1327 | 34 it is an easy argument that only a crack that with similar size with a

Assuming that there are different sizes of cracks, not wearing a helmet
doesn't reduce the risk of getting jamed. |
