皇后區艾姆赫斯特(Elmhurst)最初於1652年由荷蘭人建立，作為當時的城市新阿姆斯特
丹（New Amsterdam，現在的紐約市）的郊區。1664年，英國接管了艾姆赫斯特，將它
重新命名為「新城」（New Town）。直到1896年，這個地區開始使用「艾姆赫斯特」作
為地名。1898年皇后區加入大紐約地區後，艾姆赫斯特通過改善地區住房、建築、交通
等方面開始向流行地區的方向發展。
第二次世界大戰前，艾姆赫斯特主要是猶太裔和意大利裔社區。二戰後，這裡逐漸發展
成為紐約族裔最多元化的地區之一。在上世紀80年代，艾姆赫斯特有來自112個國家的
居民在此定居。而從2000年至2010年的十年間，西語裔在艾姆赫斯特地區的人數增長占

冰激凌去的。先去的washington lavender farm,那里的礼品店长年有lavender ice
cream or sorbet.但是他家只有门口有一些熏衣草，剩下的都在后院，当时不让看。礼
品店慈祥的老太太说Olympic lavender heritage farm那里花田大，我们就开去那里，
有一些花田全紫了，有一些还没全紫，当时还想吃冰激凌，结果那里没有，被告知说下
