highcroft似乎历史更长，四个track齐全，不过到现在才报名，是不是popular的track
也够呛了？alston ridge据我所知目前只有track 4，生源来看，质量想必也不是问题？
有没有可能去学校参观tour呢？报名是直接去学校吧？

知道大家认为都好的MPE怎么样？我们下年级也不打算再转回来了。
儿子先在新泽西的一个十分学校，感觉二年级是比一年级抓紧了好多，学的也难了
好多，每周是每天一张纸的作业，外加每天25分钟的阅读，需要家长签名。每周五会带
回来一篇在学校写的作文，需要家长签名。作业批改什么的，也没看到老师的什么评语。
来北卡了，先在weather stone，老师非常 nice，在那里上了21天。每周作业也
是基本每天一张纸（儿子两个晚上就做完），阅读也是每天25分钟，没见到有写作，据
儿子说在学校写的。作业有改但没见到老师的评语什么的。
highcroft 上了两周，每天带回来的作业写的很详细也挺多，每天都有数学，word
study 和 阅读。阅读是15分钟，完了还有回答问题。老师改作业很认真。 让我印
象深的是，有一天儿子作业上好多“OOPS！”上面还写了“correct and return”.我
看了本来是对的，老师搞错了。第二天带回来的作业纸上写着：“ go... 阅读全帖 |

请问学区Alston Ridge，Mills Park, Highcroft是不是学校都还好，看greatschool,
alston ridge9分，别的两个都是10分。是不是还是上mills park和highcroft好些？看
到板上说mills park小学满了，要排队，优先先住的，那我小孩现在4岁，等上小学的
时候能排到么？还是最好住highcroft的学区好了？谢谢了 |

dge一个档次。
各有利弊吧，weldon ridge lot大，Highcroft精致。 |

noticeable differences include elementary school (Mills Park E, traditional,
Alston Ridge E, year round), and HOA (Amberly is much bigger community
compared with Weldon Ridge).
personally, i don't think Mills Park E will go year-round.
Mills Park E was going to be opened as year around a few years back. But
board members voted unanimous to convert it into traditional before it was

的缺点是旁边是很大的墓地。
另外你看看27560的情况。那个cedar我觉得是10分。 |

之流能比得上。一个住在坟地上，一个住坟地对面。我看都没什么好。唯一引以为自慰
的，就是highcroft 小学，很可能坟地这半边就不划在highcroft学区里面。 买这投资
房，那是砸手里了。 |

school is Davis Drive.

Davis Drive 97.7
High Croft 96
Mills park 94.6
Cedar Fork 94.3
Davis Drive is the highest one and it is traditional . Highcroft is year
round and has only track 4 now. I thought it had 4 tracks before.
Davis drive starts very early , around 7:30 , while others all around 8: 30?
Your child needs to get up one hour earlier if you enroll in Davis Drive.

lot和/或
heated area太小。所以我们主要集中在以Cary Park为中心的West Cary看房，一些总
结和感
想希望能抛砖引玉。
豪宅(Mansion)：那种前不着村后不着店，占地几个acre，heated area上万个平方ft的
真正豪
宅，开车经过几个，看那院子的草坪就大得吓人。我们第一代华人工薪族是根本买不起
的，只可以yy
一下。
准豪宅(McMansion)：我们看了Weycroft，Southbridge，Woodlands几个小区，这种房
子外
表里面看起来都接近豪宅的样子，但是lot占地很小，一般不超过0.5 acre，heated
area不超过
5000 sq ft，而且装修材料用料跟真正的豪宅还是差很多的。好处是我们老中upper
middle
class（根据美国标准，household income高于15万就是upper middle class了）能负
担得
起。

不到点。很喜欢里面的设计和装修，当时给了2个Offer，只坎了不到一万的价，
Builder一分不肯，老公一起之下放弃了。现在看来还是喜欢Highcroft房子，设计人性
化，住起来会很舒服。而且小区后面的那个Town的Park也很好。 |

am a little bit concerning the low end house across maynard and the
school(weatherstone elementary and west cary middle).
I could go further west to be in Davis Dr school, the price will go up
though, and take longer to commute.
other option will be weldon ridge, cary park, highcroft, horton creek or
weycroft, all of those communities are built recently and in very good
school district.

，最近没怎么看那边的房子，一年前的价格是50万+。 只考虑小学的话，West Cary的

落航道正下方。你可以选降落航线，然后输入房子地址就知道附近起飞降落的影响了。

地考察。如果是在紫红线内也不用紧张，那个是起飞的线，只能越飞越高。避开主要的
蓝色的线区域就可以。我记得有2条，一条通过highcroft reserve，另外一条就在他平
行的下面，主要的降落航线。 |

回国的也不方便。其实肯定有中国人孩子上的，就是少一点而已。上magnet的没听说过
搬到学校旁边住的。Wake County就爱瞎折腾。不过住到学校隔壁一般划不走。比如
Wellsely去DDE，Cary park去MPE。 |

发帖数: 49 | 29 We had the same situation. Went to Mills Park again and had a chance to talk
to the principle. I was told the school is "capped" and has about 60
overflows in toal. There might be some spots released in June and will be
given to the waiting list. The school will first consider the class that is
under capacity in the current enrollment, in this case, most of the released
spots will go to Kindergarden class.
The overflow options are: Highcroft, Alston ridge and weatherstone. |

personal opinion, comprehensively .
If you rent, Arbor Brook Apartment assigned school is High Croft. I just
toured AB in this weekend. It is an excellent place with wonderful
facilities, such as Gem, swimming pool ,tennis court and free wifi in the
gem building open 24 hours.
Maybe a little bit exaggerating, I almost want to put my house for rental
and move
there because it is so convenient. |
