mile marker in today's race.
这次马拉松本来是纪念康州小学遇难人，却没想到被放置了炸弹。郁闷！
赛前朋友训练了半年，作了很多准备。我和孩子本来也是去支持的，由于报税拖延才没
去。
朋友今晚回家后，来信说距离终点还有几个mile， 就有好心的美国人一路走到上游通
知还没跑完的参赛者前面出了事，有很多热心人送食物，水，毯子。由于电车停驶，朋
友跑完长途，又不得不步行5个mile才能和家人团聚。
看完新闻图片中的血骨残肢， 实在太郁闷，于是我也出门一直走了3个mile，才平静下

连的一个国际学校，据说是该校在中国的产业。据称该校之前在美国办高中，毕业生中
90%的都升入了全美前50的高校，现在他们把高中部卖了迁至大连。在美国德州有两个
Campus (up to 8th grade), 分别位于Sugar Land和Missouri City.
据说他们在国内高中收费10万/年，因此希望了解的多些以便作出决策。
主要问题：他之前在美国本土是否办过高中？如果办过，办了几年，毕业生的去向如何
？师资水平如何？在美国高中当中的大致排名如何？这个学校初中在当地的口碑如何？
总而言之，希望提供尽可能多的有关这个学校的信息。

The Honor Roll School建校才30年, 哪那么容易有高中部. 即使有, 毕业生中
90%的都升入了全美前50的高校, 怎么也数一数二了, 还迁至大连, 办个分部不得了,
这么好赚钱的高中部不要不可能.
sweetwater 的是老的, 根本没地方, 对面就是SL著名的clements high, riverstone
是新的, 三年前才买的, 也不可能. |

的teacher asistant似乎到现在都没安排好。另外进出大门似乎比较松散管理。
另外honor roll at riverstone和sweetwater上的本部比怎样？ 本部上班不顺路，太
绕了。
大家有上过的吗？ 能不能分享下好或不好的经历。 谢谢 |

陆续知道两个朋友离婚了，有些震惊，不过想想之前也有不少端倪了。。
一个在国内，34、5的了把，想法比较多，刚想敢做那种，样子也不难看，平时说起话来彬彬有礼的，不过可以感受到她内心很倔强，而且是很把自己当回事那种人。 她中学的时候父亲就病逝了，后来大学毕业之后嫁给了她高中同学，据她说，嫁给她丈夫的主要原因是他对她很好，尽管她很早失去父爱，可是他给她很多爱来补偿。她常在外面和不同的男性朋友hang out（我相信他们仅是朋友关系），常常感叹自己的丈夫和外面的朋友相比无才无钱，就是对她好。
她比我大不少，当时我像个小女孩一样问她关于怎么找男友和男友相处的问题，她的回答全是如何和男人斗智斗勇，比如如何让她丈夫在她party很晚回家之后还不生气。。。。
第二个是这边的同学，不是中国的，也是亚洲人。精明 |

发帖数: 1727 | 35 不错，排名这么好的州立还有劝奖。我这里州立太穷，我儿子混个honor容易，但拿钱
不容易，之能靠我是职工，能有学费半折，不多，就8000左右得discount。学校为了多
收钱，很多费用变相成fee,这个还不算在打折得部分呢。我儿上州大商学院，费用（包
括吃住）大约是28-29K。
儿子基本决定去Grinnell了。这件事情上，我不准备为难他。这时做父亲得送给他得最
大一件礼物，也再我能承受的范围内，虽然还需要节省过日子。和小麦棋不同，生活质
量不是钱多少来衡量的，达到一个基本标准，就看怎么安排了。
再儿子的大学开销之外，我和太太算了账，每年两老自己的开销时税后40K。没有房贷
，房子也不大，种点菜，钓点鱼补贴家用，差不多可以过得去。思念后儿子大学毕业，
找得到工作，我们就可以退休了;找不到工作，接着念书，我就把他的一万多读书贷款
还了，就算了解我上辈子欠他的。。。
