Millions of Broken American Dreams -- An Open Letter to the World
November 12, 2013
Dear Fair and Righteous Citizens of the World,
We don't know who you are, but we know you are out there. We are
asking for your urgent help. We have been rendered voiceless, powerless, and
hopeless by the American mass media and many Americans. The American mass
media have lost journalistic ethics and objectivity and have been blatantly... 阅读全帖 |

"…this novel has actually infuriated me a great deal, it deserves to be
trashed, and I'll happily do it.
Maybe what has me so angry is that this book won the most prestigious
literary prize in France, when, really, all it deserves is to end up in a
trashcan.
The concept in itself had me interested, though: the heroine is Zelda
Fitzgerald, and the whole book is narrated by her. Interesting idea, right?
It is a novel, not a biography, and I actually like the idea of ta... 阅读全帖 |

Perhaps one of the most hideous and horrendous comments for an art dealer is
the word of “primitive”. Not any more! The current exhibition of Thomas
Chambers at the American Folk Art Museum draws the attention of both
visitors and scholars into paintings of gaudy colors and brutal repetitions.
It surely expanded my intellectual curiosity and may prod me to pick up a
primitive painting on the floor of an antiques mall next time. But after the

The Bhagavad-gita opens with blind King Dhritarashtra requesting his
secretary, Sanjaya, to narrate the battle between his sons, the Kauravas,
and their cousins, the Pandavas. Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of
Godhead, out of affection for His devotee, the Pandava prince Arjuna, has
agreed to drive his chariot. As Arjuna takes up his bow and prepares to
fight, he sees the sons of Dhritarashtra drawn in military array and

Judea and Galilee were two separate states and political entities, as

Yes, that's what I want to know about what you are against.
Your biggest assumption or a believed thought here is that marriage is the
only "good" outcome of a relationship, is it so?
You used this kind of words such as "狡辩" quite a few times, it's okay that
you think that way, that's your opinion. What I was doing was just to
express my opinions and values. I have no intention to win over you nor
argue with you as a person. I don't agree with your opinions, and let's have

This has been a disastrous launch in every respect. The iwatch is such an

When accessing complex tables, stored procs allow you to fine tune
your isolation level to make it efficient. ORMs are not smart on
such kinda access. One seemingly simple update call could generate
horrendous sql execution to grind a big system to halt. |

Dynamic languages like Javascript are toys at best. Its lack of strong
type system makes it a horrendous choice for building any large scale
apps. You cannot afford writing tens of thousands lines of serious code
w/ languages tend to defer error detecting to runtime.
As if it's not bad enough, there are also issues of weak tooling support
and inherent sluggish performance due its dynamic gene. That's too much. |

Across the industrialized world, women still live 5 to 10 years longer than
men. Among people over 100 years old, 85% are women, according to Tom Perls,
founder of the New England Centenarian Study at Boston University and
creator of the website LivingTo100.com. Time.com asks him why.
Q: Why do women live longer than men?
A: One important reason is the big delay — and advantage — women have over

Montgomery and Frederick top the list in MD, based on how long people live
and how healthy they are.
However, the air quality in Fairfax ranked 132 in VA (last one in the list)
poorly because of the region's horrendous traffic.
In Maryland, prince George's county ranked 17 out of 23, in large part
because of the rate of the people dying before age 75, which is more than
twice of that of Howard county.
