翻过Hunchback Pass (12,800ft），是一个巨大的碎石坡。挺喜欢这一张的，有点母子
同行路上的味道哈。
接着是狠陡的大下坡。
歇会儿先。
顺着小溪终于看到了蓝莹莹的湖水.
从这里下到湖边大概600ft，可是。。。路呢？这才意识到，我们终于也不能免俗地迷
路了！话说这一路上我们都没注意到任何岔路，直到现在反复回想都不知道哪一步走错
了。

走的步子叫“猫步”是否恰当？
妹妹其实很少乖乖地走路，都是一路狂跑。一秒钟前，她还在楼下，只听见咚咚的一阵
脚步声后，她就出现在二楼的书房里，并且从楼上的木栅栏间探出她娇小可爱的脸往下
望。
妹妹常常处于一种亢奋状态，她激动的时候，就会躬着背，耸着肩，尾巴上的毛发直竖
。我每天早晨起床，或是下班回家，她一看到我就这个状态。然后，也不等我伸手去抚
摸她，她就开始躬着背一路狂跑开了。这个时候，我就会想起《巴黎圣母院》里的那个
驼背的撞钟人，夸西莫多。人们一般不叫他的真名，而管他叫 the Hunchback （驼背
）。于是，我偶尔就戏称妹妹为Hunchback，或是Quasimoto。老D不高兴我这样叫她，
他说这么难听的名字怎么能够用在我们美丽绝伦的妹妹上面？我就狡辩说，夸西莫多是

不太了解，具体怎么测量还真不了解，做immunostaining？in situ？GFP tag？
不过Wnt的diffusion和果蝇胚胎发育早期经典的bicoid、hunchback等morphogen的
diffusion有所不同。bicoid、hunchback等好像都是transcription factor，果蝇早期
的胚胎是合胞体，一个细胞膜内N多核，转录因子直接通过扩散可以如何，调控基因表
达；Wnt是ligand，要和细胞表面的受体结合后经过复杂的信号传导后才有beta-
catenin，c-jun等入核调节基因表达或者有细胞骨架的变化，所以Wnt的diffusion应该
还受到受体分布和下游信号传导的制约的。
我们做的海胆胚胎，早期是没有localized Wnt ligand，只有Wnt下游的蛋白，比如
Dishevelled，是localized，但却足以激活并限制Wnt信号通路只在局部进行。稍晚一
些Wnt8表达，加强了这种效果。

Day 1 - 2 入山，向上
Elk Creek Trail -> Continental Divide Trail
Distance： 10.4 miles
Elevation gain/loss： 4500/1600 feet
Elk Creek Trail 的入口就在铁轨旁边，一不小心就容易错过。
开始的几英里都是缓慢的上坡路。走起来，很舒服。
当快到一个小池塘的时候，我这不速之客，终于被盯上了。一头年轻的驼鹿竟然就沿着
小路低头向我跑过来。
直到后来在小池边休息时，我看着它在那儿开心的啃着青草，又看了看自己手上的肉干
，还是没搞明白到底谁是肉食性动物。
第二天，也是一个晴天。继续走着上坡路。大的动物没怎么见到，小的却有一些。
渐渐的，顺着山花和小溪，心慢慢的随着周围的声音安静下来。

6月的北京，热热的，燥燥的。鹿呦呦天生爱跑爱跳又爱出汗，这是他在北京度过
的第一个夏天，真不知道如此的难捱，他小小年纪，很多事情想不清楚，但是感受确实
很清晰，就是热的难受太难受了，怎么办呢？他在他那本薄薄的生活经验簿也找到了答
案，泡在水里就舒服了。于是他想着以前在新泽西过的日子，天天吵着要去游泳。
隋媛不是不想去，事实上她自己也非常enjoy游泳这项运动，她熟悉两项泳姿，还
掌握触壁翻转这门技能。但是呦呦快5岁了，没法再带进女更衣室，隋媛看鹿鸣整天这
么忙，虽然一再提议全家一块去游泳健身是多好的事情，但是鹿鸣忙起来一天天的推。
她也是没办法，只好设法哄着儿子。
“爸爸，你什么时候带我去游泳啊，对了，你原来给我许诺的在这儿也给我买个带
游泳池的房子啊。”呦呦绕过妈妈的太极拳，直接去找爸爸问。
