economy. REM is a etf that narrowly focuses on REITs that deal with
mortgages and only represents 10% of the entire REIT market (the other 90%
of REITs are property REITS that actulally own properties.) As such, the
major risk associated with REM is non-diversification. IMHO, to have REM as
the sole holding in the retirement account is unwise and risky. |

allocation in place that fits your risk tolerance and time horizon, then use
low cost broadly diversified index funds as your starting point. Afterwards

s&p 500 is kind of large cap blend; while total market include all caps,

and is therefore classified as middle cap blend.

Remember, time is your best friend for retirement savings.
IMHO, you should fully fund Roth IRA first.
Then split any available money between down payment saving and 401K (maybe
tilted towards down payment saving first).
Also, remember you can borrow (there is a limit) from your IRA for down
payment. |

Also, I'd suggest for simplicity to just go with "Target 2045" and don't
mess with it, especially if you don't want to learn about investing. A bit
of light on bonds is probably fine IMHO. Bonds are more pricey than equity
at this moment. And they don't give you protection against inflation. Over
the time you just keep saving a chunk of your paycheck and accumulating the
target fund.
Don't watch the fluctuation and don't pretend that you know which direction

For example, some professors that one took classes from.
The rationale is that the references need to have certain credibility from

should gear a bit more toward your family, especially your kid is little.
