For a pitcher like Moyer, he really needs good defense behind him.
With his pitch speed so low, the entire left side of the infield
has to be on alert all the time. Hot corner D is particularly
important to his success. So far, he's given up a lot of unearned
runs.

through 10. What's the point of pulling him off? Give him one
more inning. He is a better option than any other reliever whose
last name is not Papelbon.
The decision of PH Thome was also questionable. With a runner on
3 and less than 2 outs, he needed somebody who can put the ball
in play. No disrespect for Thome, who is great, this was not the

acceptable call. The problem is not in the call itself -- it is in the
rulebook. Once the infield fly call is called, the batter is out no matter
what happens next. This is a clear example why this rule needs to be
modified should an error happen after the call is made.
To me, it is an E6.

, not the defenders.
This is not the best call, but it is not as bad as it is portraited. What
happened next in the Turner field was more unacceptable imo.
Chipper said it best. The call did not sink the Braves. The errors did. |

little league this year under the influence of his big brother (12 yrs), who
has played baseball for 5th year and still going.
Today they played a playoff game for the season. They lost their previous
one and are facing elimination (double elimination format).
In the top of 1st, he played 1st base, and caught a sharp liner to end the

don't.
The long and hard battle never materialized. CC's team won on just 3 1/2
innings, 15:3, on the 10-run mercy rule (after 4 innings, if a team has 10
run or more lead, the game ends).
For MM's team, it was just slightly longer. In the bottom of 4th inning,

right now who are blocked.
To get Cliff Lee, it has to be an unbelievable package. It is also a boat
load of payroll space. Very few teams can do this. Cards certainly can if

跑一垒启动很重要，还需要有点技术
他的启动相比其它顶尖短跑选手不是最快的
他如果是右打，其实不见得能跑得过铃木
铃木挥棒的同时已经启动了
不过说真的，大联盟跑得快的真不多
那些大块头的大棒，基本不可能infield hit |

当垒上有人时，当下一个击球人打出了一个比较近的高飞球，防守者本来可以很轻松劫
杀，但防守者故意没接到，然后很快捡起球搞双杀，这样就是两个out了。为了防止这
样的猫腻，规则规定不管接没接到，都算一个out。
结果今年一场定胜负的外卡赛，braves在垒上有人时打出一个高飞球，已经出了
infield了；小鸟队俩人配合失误，都没有接到球，应该是个error。结果裁判用了这个
规则，判braves一个out。 |

这个规则可能一般球迷都不知道。不过ESPN也分析了半天说为啥是个错误判决。如果是
infield fly,裁判必须立即判罚。这个好像是跑完了才做的判罚。这个水平和NFL的替
补裁判差不多（不过昨晚上大家也看见了，正式裁判有时更黑）。 |
