发帖数: 65 | 5 哦，忘了说一下。 Bioinformatics 和biomedical informatics确实有差别，前者很很
多方向，后者主要应用信息技术在医学领域比如临床数据的分析处理上。它们有些交叉
，比如有的学校Biomedical informatics下面有Bioinformatics这个方向，而有的学校
在bioinformatics下做些医学相关的。
我选择有些学校的Bioinformatics，因为我看了它们有医学应用等方向。所以想过去后
选择那方面的导师，做医学方面的bioinformatics。不过具体要做什么，还是和导师以
及所在的实验室有关。
个人比较偏向于做医学相关的bioinformatics或者biomedical informatics.具体能够
申请到什么学校，还是要看运气以及自己努力了。
从个人了解的信息来看，biomedical informatics这个领域还是很有发展前景的。能够
提供biomedical informatics 博士教育的美国大学不多，不过能够提供
bioinformatics的美国大学倒是挺多的。
我个人在斟酌当中。

是传统的bioinformatics，主要囊括genomics & proteomics；另一个主要的方向其实
是clinical informatics，主要是跟医院合作的。前者跟临床也有交叉，比如GENOMICS
分析来预测癌症的发生的可能性（似乎有一个预测的东东已经被批准使用，乳腺癌相关
的吧），但总的来说是局限于研究性的；而后者则应归类为health care，跟医院直接
密切相关，服务于医院系统，这个方面的专业在全美要少很多。这一领域包含了很多的
东西，比如HUMAN FACTOR, PRIVACY, INFORMATION RETRIEVAL,NURSING INFORMATICS,
HEALTH INFORMATICS EXCHANGE,STANDARDS AND INTEROPERABILITY...我见过的一个很
COOL的软件用来帮助医生预测疾病的发生或者药物使用，可以大大降低各种因素带来的

发帖数: 11058 | 17 Medical(clinical) informatics还是不错的，诸如电子病历，远程医疗，针对Doc及
nursing的不同的系统而优化的UI等等很多方面。前面有人已经提到医生现在不是自己
手写病历，主要并不是因为懒，而是以医生的收入来花大量时间写病历，可以想象成本
会有多高。所以在语音识别软件应用在临床上之前，多数都是医生做dictation录下音
来，然后由秘书们一边听一边输入到电脑中，然后再让医生们审查签名等。
Medical informatics方向的工作一般是所在医院support，不需要外来的funding，所
以job security应该不错。

Health Informatics.对这专业的前景实在是迷茫。我上的课程主要有Health
Informatics，Bioinformatics，biostatistics，Drug design等。。明年5月份开始会
有一个project可能在实验室做也可能在industry。没来之前以为这个专业会很好很实
用，现在觉得虽然竞争少了但就业面也变窄了。实在不想在英国读PHD了，就试着联系
了美国几个学校的biomedical informatics，尤他，德州理工…… 有这类似专业的学
校不是很多。学校很客气，说背景很合适让我申请。。。客套。。
年底考GRE了，托福没考，只有雅思。。。
这几天没日没夜的写论文，背单词，不知道前途再何方。不知道这个帖子该发到什么地
方，也不知道我现在还是不是CS的人了，生物似乎也不是。
想移民加拿大，想去美国读pHD，想找工作，就是不想一年后回国，寂寞，孤独我也认
了。哪怕客死他乡也要混出点成就来。

大家好，我有个问题想请教大家。
我的背景是：国内本科在一所名校就读，学的是生物工程和工商管理双学士，有较强的
数学功底和工科背景。然后在国内念了硕士，方向是分子进化，老板在国内是大牛。来
美后在一所普通大学的医学院念生物医学，方向是神经科学，做大脑疾病方面的研究。
读了两年，感觉不太喜欢做实验，而且生物很琐碎，今后就业前景黯淡，看了一些网上
的讨论，感觉对学生物的抱怨特别多。
因为不是非常喜欢生物，想转行，但想结合以前的背景，拿个硕士毕业。网上调查了一
番，感觉自己生物医学信息学比较适合我的背景，能够把以前的知识综合利用起来。而
且这个专业属于交叉学科，历史较短，全美只有二十来所大学能够提供这个专业，毕业
人数不是很多。但是这个专业应用挺广，能够在工业界，医学或者学术界发展。个人想

away.
It's been a good job market for medical informatics and the pay is good. It'
s basically conventional IT with applications to medicine. I don't see much
potential in its academic research, which very much follows regular IT.
Not sure about your personal expectation. I tend to think personality is
more important than background. |

给他们做什么。跟生物基本上不沾边，主要是医学领域的。一般来讲，东西比较实用，
就是让MD们怎么方便怎么来。刚刚在DC的AMIA会议就是HEALTH CARE INFORMATICS的，
你可以网上搜搜看看摘要估计就全明白了。 |

惑和犹豫是我发现与这个专业相关的职位一般都要求有临床（医生，护士）经验或计算
机工作背景，像我这样的背景似乎很难符合那些职位的要求。我担心读完后能否找到工
作。

目前考虑学Health Informatics，因为可以提供奖学金。我的困惑和犹豫是我发现与这
个专业相关的职位要么要求有有临床（医生，护士）经验或计算机工作背景，像我这样
一纯基础医学生物学研究背景似乎很难符合那些职位的要求。我担心读完后能否找到工

学统计得全部自费，且发现统计基本被中国人，印度人和俄罗斯人包围，不知过两年后
