No offense, but why did I get a sense of deeply ingrained traditional

Go on with something else, "Lust Caution"
One of the finest Chinese movies in recent memory, and some of the best
acting by mandarin-speaking actors I have seen. Ang Lee's beautifully filmed
"Lust, Caution" has now become infamously associated with its raw eroticism
, but it is a treatise on the subtleties of human interaction and morality,
and it is deeply ingrained and understanding of the Chinese culture.
Although dramatic emotions don't often surface during its 157 minutes, when

sports is deeply ingrained in the american blood, not any less at the
collegiate level. yes we are an academic institution that fosters talents,
awards degrees and does serious research, but sports is what binds us all
together in spirit and gives us a brandname and recognition. college
athletes, unlike pro athletes who earn millions and live in larger than life
extravagance, study in the same classrooms, eat in the same cafeteria and
go to the same parties like the rest of the students. that's ... 阅读全帖

It's a truth universally acknowledged that a single woman in possession
of wallets and wardrobes must be in want of her wedding.
有一条真理举世皆知,钱包鼓鼓、衣柜满满的单身女性一定在寻觅一个如意郎君。
My friend Carrie Chou, a drop-dead gorgeous, 28-year-old marketing

Mo-Bear was a young female German Shepherd Dog who started life in a
backyard breeder's kennel. That is where she lived, in a kennel run, until
she was around 12 months old. At that point, she was sold to a person who
called himself a "trainer." As it turns out, her stay with her new owner was
not only not pleasant, but was downright abusive. And Mo-Bear began a long,
spiraling trip down a road to hell, from which she couldn't return. Mo-Bear

why is that surprising?
the practitioners of the art of gastronomy have never been associated with
social grace, upward mobility, or sexual desirability from a female
prospective. It is deeply ingrained in the female psyche as a feminine
skill
, not to be confused with the masculine features of a strong, brainy and
brawny man.
No wonder the official seal of MIT is composed of an ironsmith and a wise
old professor, not a cook and a tailor!

来自主题: TrustInJesus版 - THE NAME "LUCIFER" HAS NEVER BELONGED TO SATAN!
http://www.franknelte.net/Nelte_HTML/LUCIFER.htm
In the English version of the Bible the name "Lucifer" appears only one time
, in Isaiah 14:12. This verse reads:
"How are you fallen from heaven, O LUCIFER, son of the morning..." (Isaiah
14:12)
Now the word "Lucifer" is not an English word, but a LATIN word. And so the
question is:
WHO GAVE THE WORLD THIS LATIN NAME "LUCIFER"? AND WHY DID THEY GIVE US THIS
LATIN NAME?
HOW WE CAME TO HAVE THIS NAME "LUCIFER"
In 382 A.D. Pope Damasus commissioned ... 阅读全帖

chapter 9.4 Our End Is God’s Beginning
Now that we have settled the doctrinal side of the question we must come
down to practical issues, staying a little longer with the negative aspect
and keeping the positive for our next chapter. What does it mean in everyday
life to be delivered from the Law? At the risk of a little overstatement, I
reply, “It means that from henceforth I am going to do nothing whatever
for God: I am never again going to try to please Him.” ‘What a doctrine!’

I have compiled a list on “how to love yourself” for readers who are
facing difficulty knowing what to do in embracing themselves. When I first
began to be aware that I need to love myself first prior to developing any
meaningful relationships with others, I realized that I did not know where
to start.
This was a surprise to me then as I would have thought I’d be an expert on
love and relationships by then. After all, as I recalled,... 阅读全帖

For decades, mice have been the species of choice in the study of human
diseases. But now, researchers report evidence that the mouse model has been
totally misleading for at least three major killers — sepsis, burns and
trauma. As a result, years and billions of dollars have been wasted
following false leads, they say.
The study’s findings do not mean that mice are useless models for all human
diseases. But, its authors said, they do raise troubling questions about
diseases like ... 阅读全帖

Minimalist Ironman Training
By Matt Fitzgerald
You can prepare for a successful Ironman triathlon with a program that has
an average training volume of only 12 hours per week and a briefly-
maintained peak training volume of 16 hours. And by “successful” I don’t
mean finishing alive. I mean covering the distance as fast as your genetic
potential allows. In fact, I believe that many triathletes can race a faster
Ironman by following ... 阅读全帖

I learned a lot more about the media in a month than ever before, thanks to
Kimmel. The more I learned, the less impressed I am.
First thing I learned: 1) JK publicly used a verbal equivalent of "when did
you stop abusing your wife?" question to instigate a young child to
outrageous genocidal speech. By scapegoating the China's relatively small
debt for the US government shutdown, Kimmel essentially drew a target on the
Chinese, and invited the kids to shoot at them. 2) Then he chuckled and... 阅读全帖

I made it up. Kind of similar to "comparative literature" that compares
Chinese literature with American/English literature, only a study of
different medias in different countries.
I wrote a couple of articles I learned about American media. Previous I was
rather oblivious of the differences and naively believed in "journalistic
independence", "fair and balanced coverage":

We need to build a social network to create internet sensations like Gangnam
style and billion dollar media brands like Oprah and Facebook. We want
to clean the media of its ingrained anti-China racist bias and pave the way
for the first Chinese American president.
Jin Yong's Ming Bao is a good example of a powerful Chinese media brand.
I'm pretty sure there are talented people the caliber of Jin Yong in this
generation.

That is the Japanese mentality, full of deeply ingrained

The big question is, what will Japan want to do about it?
