ranked No.1 before onsite in both places. Sometimes, they want to intereview
their top candidate first so that they can make a quick decision if the
candidate gets an offer from somewhere else before they finish their normal
intereview process. |

The interview went well. One intereviewer (Principal Engineer) rated him
strong hire. The others rated him well. HM is Lao Yin.
The recruiter said money is no issue and just make a counter offer and they
really want him, but the offer is contradictory and so low. |

The big fours are designed in such a way that, intentionally burns out the
freshgrads in the first few years. Once you get in, you are just another
piece of tool for the firm.
In a way, it's no different than making it as an analyst at the consulting
side of the Big 4. You will need all the right credentials (GPA, experience
, right degrees, good intereview performance) to get in, but once you get in
, you are just another analyst.

In a phone interview, you won't be asked lots of detailed technical
questions. The main purpose of a phone screening is to make sure you are not
a freak, and you have the background that you claimed in your resume.
Your purpose of a phone interview is to get the on-site interview
opportunity. Don't worry. As long as you are honest in your resume, you will
be fine.

they wear, as long as professional and formal dress. No matter how hot the
weather is, you still have to wear formal dress.
To win the interview by your dress? you kidding me? I don't care how pretty

there are plenty of desks within GS. Quite often people got intereviews from
3 or 4 different teams in GS.
GS is definitely a big name, but not necessarily the best place to be for
you. If you have to screw up the first few interviews, i guess you don't
have any 'a priori' info here for your decision
So just go for it
