I will transfer to another school. The International Advisor in that school
told me that I need to ask the internaional center in my current school to
release my I-20 to their school. I am wondering when will be the appropriate
date. I do not want to do that too early becaue I may register for the
summer's class, but I do not wanna do that too late because I want more time
to prepare for the new documents. I probabily will take the one summer class
from May to mid-June.

发帖数: 1797 | 9 工程类的这样的引用不少了吧，我是EE, 引用才30+不也eb1b了。
关键的问题是，引用的质量而不是数量，需要发掘你contribution的
international influence而不是简单一个数量指标。
比如，如果有某大牛引用你的文章, 或者在他文章里大段高度评价你的文章，那么哪怕
只有几个引用也是绝对internaional recognized and influential. 这些objective的
证据(他人的评价，尤其是业界牛人的评价)比单纯一个引用数量可信很多。你想，如果
你是IO, 给你一个case, 引用50，你怎么判断这个人符合不符合eb1b呢，如果你处理过
大量相似的案子(比如专门审理material science and enginering), 那么大部分以前
通过的都是100+, 那么我不给这个人过；如果大部分人都是20+，有可能让这个过，但
是万一明天有个100+的来了过还是不过呢。
所以，还是要挖掘引用和客观评价(objective evidence)的质量，我当时找了2个学术
大牛，3个业界大牛(来自microsoft, kodak, 等... 阅读全帖 |

我就说：我的international影响力多么多么牛，连从来没接触过的journal editor都
知道我的大名，主动给我发邀请函要求review
要是你能再要上一封editor的推荐信，就更好了
3，即使在专门领域内也最多排到1／3强。还有的journal就没有被ISI收录。在PL里该
怎么吹呢？目前我只是把每个journal网站上的自我介绍copy了几句，看上去也不怎么
牛。还是说就干脆不提？ |

发帖数: 278 | 13 可以，单从数字上来看挺强了，不过措辞要注意。
第一，不要像版上很多人一样区分journal paper和conference paper，完全没必要，
区分开来反而容易confuse审核人。
第二，最好多个渠道挖掘引用，Google Scholar不一定是最全的。如果各种渠道证明他
引的确只有29左右，PL中最好也不要太过于区分自引他引，但是可以从其他地方证明
internaionally recognized，比如他引的国家分布广啊，有全世界各地的牛组引了你
的文章啊，诸如此类。
具体问题你可以和律师讨论。 |

checked the options:
1. Fedex internaional express / USPS global express guaranteed. They are
the same thing. USPS i s using Fedex. It will needs 3 days.
2. Someone told me DHL. Anyone has experience for that? Can it beat the
Fedex in time?

But I bought many textbooks which are internaional edition.
Most intn editions are soft cover, but the content is exactly the same as US
edition. The printing and quality are good, actually if you can find a US
soft cover edition, you won't find any difference
It is not necessary printed in india or china i guess

其实我早就和部门的秘书讲过，老板也和他讲过了。可是不知道为什么拖到现在。我问
过学校的Internaional Service Office，他们说需要三到四个星期审看材料，然后再
寄给移民局。这周五秘书会交资料给ISO.唉，也怪我，没有盯着他们。没想到美国人办
事太拖拉了。也算一个教训吧。
楼上的，请问你是收到receipt notice花了三个月吗？那对我来讲岂不是要出问题？

考虑以上三个专业：international relation,international affairs,public policy
(social policy)。Ir和ia两个专业我一直分不大清楚，IR一般是在政治学院下我知道
而比较奇怪的是有的学校ia在公共管理学院下，有的在政治学院下
哪个专业更好找工作一些呢？...我不想读phd...还有一个专业叫internaional
develpment,学的都是做ngo的东西，这个专业怎么样呢？有没有了解的人～
另外
看了很多关于mpa、mpp就业问题的帖子后被打击的心凉了一大截...
事实真的是这样的么...mpa的国际学生找不到工作云云
