去年尼罗河文章《琴童两周岁》说到孩子的老师要去欧洲挖掘二战期间犹太音乐家留下
的作品,只好在音乐学校临时找个老师将琴娃寄学。第三年的钢琴之路就充满了变数。
先是过继到一个老先生门下。第一次课发现很多音符错误。第二次课有些错误还没有改
过来,老先生就不耐烦了,很严肃地说这是浪费家长的钱而且浪费他的时间。我心想浪
费钱可能是真的,他一节课的大多数时间都在纠正孩子的肢体动作。强调两臂要像波浪
一样运动。可怜琴娃注意了动作就弹错音符。弹得顺利一点,动作又忘了。老先生大概
是有意引导孩子学习触键弹奏。可是琴娃的手指还没能立起来,现在来谈触键敲键太早
了吧。于是第三次课就换断然了老师。这次是一个很年轻的韩国女老师。后来我发现老
先生几乎所有的学生都是小小孩,而这位韩国老师却有不少很大的孩子。
韩国老师很有童心又有耐心,对琴娃音符指法的错误反复纠正反复示范。特别善于从孩
子的视角启发对音乐的理解。也注意纠正琴娃手形手腕和身体的姿态。学校上课的一个
优势就是有其他老师定期对琴娃作评估。评估优秀者可以参加recital 表演。第一次评

当然,虽然是奇技,但还是有一定讨论的价值。我现在忙,先写一段散文,然后
在慢慢讨论。散文开始:
首先是抽屉原理的问题,抽屉原理在入门级数学竞赛里基本不用(原因可以日后讨论),
但抽屉原理本质上是 combinatorics 里面的一个特殊情况的例子。而 combinatorics
是入门级数学竞赛的重点之一。
其实是 “构造法” 证明/解题的问题。。。但 “构造法” 本身并不归类于 “奇技淫
巧”。。。其实我觉得 “构造法” 这个用词并没有体现其深意,我觉得更好的说法
是:“reverse math modelling” / “math model invention”,这么说:
通常的 “math modelling“,是基于 “math principals”,建立对特例的 “math
model”,从而解决 “real world math problems”。
而 “reverse math modelling” / “math model invention”,是反过来,海阔

这个对计算机如何证明数学定理实在是不懂。
目前看来,人类有一特点,就是会联想,有时风马牛不相及的事情也能给你瞎联系到一
起,可能就是神经短路的结果,但恰恰有时就是解决问题的关键。
另一特点是好奇,偶尔发现个什么就想总结出个规律来。大言不惭地说,我这次看到循
环小数的循环节乘以被除数等于999。。放两千年前(两千年前已经有一批数学家了?
那就五千年前吧),是不是也能整出个啥啥猜想一类的?计算机有没有这种好奇心?
至于阿发猫,首先,它会不会提出问题?貌似现在计算机都是有一定目标去完成的。就
解决问题来说,在已有成功先例的情况下,照猫画虎构造个什么来解决与已经解决的问
题类似的问题可能还行,也就是说有一定套路的解法。创造性地提出个什么理论,估计
还是不成。
更深一点说,人脑是不是图灵机?和图灵机之间有没有本质的区别?有没有不可逾越的
鸿沟?

Well, according to the US law, if you are employed as an R&D scientist, all
the inventions you made, either at work or at home, belong to your employer,
especially if you have agreed to and signed on the employment aggreement
that says so.
To own a new invention that you are working on, you have to quit from your
current company, document that you are working on a new invention based on your
own ideas, using your own time/money/facility/equiments, etc., and reduced a
particular idea to practice

Monsanto's technology is terrible. LZ's concern is right. (I am an tenured
professor in biotechnology so that I think that I have some authority to say
the below words). Please check non-till farming, a "new" technology in
modern farming. For thousands of years, farmers used to till land before

yes. If you get a patent in the US, anybody who imports products employing
your invention into the US, he must pay you.
I guess, you still can file a patent in the EU now, because I know some
countries let you claim priority to the publication date of your invention.
Now the first thing is to file a provisional patent (it costs $80) in the US.
The grace period does not mean that your invention is protected. It is
possible that somebody will file a patent application before you. If that

。通过封闭系统,在市场上绑架用户,不断地高利润的炸干用户的钱包。 HTC 官司后
几乎再也没有能力和APPLE 竞争。Nokia和Rimm 几乎已经垮台。唯有开源的 Android
阵营。 开源与封闭的斗争在我看来如同公益与自私,正义与邪恶的斗争。开源则是鼓
励中小企业,弱者参与竞争;封闭的 Apple 是把同行业的公司都挤垮,独食而肥;
Apple 手段是到处Claim 专利,到处打官司。因此对专利的lang用,对消灭竞争的判决

我当时想到的是 Thomas Edison.
但我想想他的贡献: Light Bulb? 显然这不是他的主要贡献,他只是使它更实用了。

A software patent is different from a chemical patent.
There is also a way to patent the invention yourself, if you are gifted
enough! Most attorneys would not tell you that. But the catch is that if
your invention is not THAT inventive or THAT nonobvious, better find some
professional help.

1. Did he invent it? he wrote about it, but was not necessarily the first
one to do it (of course I didn't have the time to read through the full
dissertation. it should be clear from his dissertation to see whether he was
the one invented it)
2. Did he patent it? Even if he invented it, if he didn't patent it at that
time, then the technology was in the public domain with the publication of
his PhD dissertation (or any of his papers). Nobody, not Apple, not himself,

There is a dramatic difference between Invention and Innovation.
Many people invent, but can't convert to money. Jobs can do the later part
of converting invention to product and money, so he is doing innovation.

Most Chinese have no passion on what they are doing, except making money.
Many technology breakthroughs were done by Western enthusiasts in car
garages. Some examples are invention of airplane by Wright brothers,
invention of rocket, invention of personal computer. Passion is one of the
qualities top notch American universities are looking in their applicants.
Unfortunately, college admission process in China do not take passion into
consideration.
