第二回相思
一九三七年，胡适出任驻美大使，卸任后又在美国各大学讲学，先后共九年，包括
了整个抗日战争时期。这里我要报告我在《日记》中发现了胡适一九三八年夏季的一段
短短的情缘。让我先把材料抄在下面，再逐步解说。
一九三八年四月十四日：
Roberta Lowitz邀吃茶，她谈在Jamaica看英国人的荒谬，我很感兴趣。她去参观
其地之医院，为揭发其种种弊政，颇引起反动。殖民地之政治，至今犹如此，可恨。

做个相关性统计不就行了。

这笔捐赠属于北美地区给儿科癌变研究暨治疗的最大数目的单笔个人捐赠。多伦多病童医院为此专门设立了贾隆家族癌病中心(Garron Family Cancer Centre)，以促进医院内的癌病治疗、癌变研究及人员培训等。

发帖数: 70028 | 8 有网友在上海地铁事故后声称纽约地铁50年没有撞车事故。这其实是没有做调查就得出的、想当然的错误结论。事实上纽约地铁在事故方面是臭名昭著的。不仅有碰撞事故，还经常有出轨事故。这不是为上海地铁事故辩解，但是，中国人应该放弃自虐心态，事实上美国的月亮并不比中国的圆。从安全性来说，中国任何一个城市的地铁都比纽约强很多。

上周末，俄罗斯总统普京(Vladimir Putin)向德帕迪约授予了俄罗斯国籍。据经济合作与发展组织(OECD)说，法国政府计划将年收入在130万美元以上的人适用的最高一档所得税税率从目前的46.7%提高至75%，德帕迪约因这个计划而与政府激烈交锋（目前为止已悄无声息），之后他便放弃了法国国籍。他选择了俄罗斯，因为俄罗斯实行 13%的均一税率，而且他在该国已是一个家喻户晓的人物。德帕迪约并非第一个改换国籍的名人。2012年，亿万富翁、Facebook联合创始人萨维林 (Eduardo Saverin)成为新加坡永久居民，不过他的发言人当时说他并不是因为税率而决定改变国籍的。

在第一世紀時，歐洲在糖的消費方面，並不像今天有這麼多的種類，尤其是英國。英國
的糖都是仰賴進口，在16世紀時，英國從西印度群島的巴貝多 （Barbados）引進糖與
陶瓷，當時的糖是由箱子裝起來，而且是未精煉之前的糖，呈現紅色或紅褐色，即一般
所稱的粗糖，精煉糖則是新世界的產物。
直到17世紀末，糖被用來做為象徵歐洲貴族地位和社會地位的奢侈品。此外
，糖也被用來做為藥劑、香料等用途。在阿拉伯人的記載中指出，10～14世紀之間，糖
也是一種重要的藥品，而回教的文獻中，也有記載著從波斯到西班牙的回教、猶太教及
基督教的醫師，以糖做為藥品的醫學知識。且在13世紀末的歐洲，糖更成為了醫師用來
做為滋補身體的處方。糖具有高營養成份及容易吸收和消化的優點，成為唯一不受宗教

的数据替代1960年，结果一定是一样的，那就是中国人口增长人数最多。

据来源是世行。中国年均GDP增幅是5.22%，在这104年个国家里排到44位，算是中上。
作为对比，同期世界各国GDP增幅平均为4.96%。
也就是说，在中国仍然搞计划经济的这18年里，在中国拿出大量人力物力财力开发大杀
器的时候，在中国大搞阶级斗争文化革命的这个年代里，中国经济增长速度依然是高于
世界大多数国家的。如果这样的经济也能被形容为“陷入经济崩溃边缘”，那岂不是全
世界大多数国家都已经掉悬崖里摔死几遍了？
再来看第二组数据，同样是世界银行的数据。选了1980-2008这28年。中国GDP年均增速
高达9.91%，是世界同期平均增速的近三倍，在全球所有国家里遥遥领先。所以说，改
革开放也不是说一片黑暗，光看这个数据就很喜人嘛，至少优于1961-1978年期间的表
现。所以说，批判改革开放的时候，也要承认改革开放的确是有成绩的。当然现在的突
出矛盾是，没有人要否认改开导致经济总量增长，只是对这个经济增长的代价巨大感到

熟悉中国近代史的朋友都知道，30年代有个亲日政客叫唐有壬，是大汉奸汪精卫的嫡系
，曾经出任国民政府的外交部副部长。唐有壬虽然是中国政府的高级官员，但每个星期
五下午，必乘火车从南京到上海，向日本驻沪总领事馆“述职”，“汇报”一周工作。
日子一长，连火车上的乘务员都知道他是汉奸，当面骂他“该死，该杀”，他为此多次
向汪精卫“哭诉”。唐有壬后来果然被爱国青年暗杀。
唐有壬有个弟弟叫唐有寅，唐有寅有三个儿子、两个女儿，其中最小的儿子，就是当今
中共的外交部长唐家璇，也是一个有名的亲日派。日本前驻联合国大使长谷川健次曾经
回忆说：在联合国，按照英文字母的顺序，日本（Japan）席位的左右，还有牙买加（
Jamaica）、约旦（Jordan）等国，唐先生每次看我们这个方向时，看到其他国家的代
表，总是很严肃，但只要一看到我们（日本代表），立即露出一脸媚笑，实在让人感到
亲切。
唐家璇有一子一女，儿子唐国凯，曾在日本留学，后回国，现状不详，我们这里只谈唐

*为估计值，第一个IQ是2002年数据，第二个IQ是2006年修订数据，中国2006年人均IQ达
到105，排名世界第五，美国的人均IQ为98，名列第33位，俄罗斯为97，名列第36位，而
印度目前只有82。IQ最高的国家是新加坡，平均108 。
从表中可见，排名前30位的国家和地区，除了加拿大、澳大利亚和新西兰自外，都
位于欧洲和东亚，而东亚国家和地区则占据了前10名之中的8个。在名次靠前的国家中，
既有非常发达的国家，也有像中国、朝鲜、蒙古这样经济和社会发展比较落后的国家，
可见人均IQ跟一个国家的经济社会发展水平并没有必然联系。

LONDON: Indians have overtaken the Irish to become the largest foreign-born
ethnic group in England and Wales.
The UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS)'s latest census has revealed
that the number of Indians went up by over 52%, from 4.56 lakh in 2001 to 6.
