洛杉矶地区没有最好的私立高中，只有最合适的私立高中。四所最严格私立高中是
Flintridge Prep, Pasadena Poly, Webb 和 Harvard-Westlake. 有些人可能会说最严
格的就是最好的，但对于大部分学生来说这种说法不对。对于大部分学生来说这种严格
的学校压力过大，每晚五小时的家庭作业 (脑子好使的), 加上周末，从九年级开始就
用大学程度课本。再加上2到3小时的体育训练或者演奏练习，加上社团，公共服务，和
课外活动。在申请大学的时候，大学不会因为你上一所非常难的私立学校，而对你网开
一面，反而在这里更难拿到好成绩。
最好从你所居住的周围开始咨询，因为你不会想要每天开很远的路程。就算是比较不那
么难的学校每晚也有3到4小时的家庭作业。有些学校有非常强的运动计划或者艺术计划
，所以选什么学校完全看你需要什么。不要太看中升学率，因为那主要取决与学生而不
是学校。
很多洛杉矶的天主教学校也收一部分非天主教的学生。天主教学校的费用通常只有私立

我们的校长和大部分私校校长一样，是Board of Trustee选举的
不太一样的是，我们的校董会里面有很多Congregation of Holy Cross（圣十字教士团
，又称 Congregatio a Sancta Cruce (C.S.C.)）的成员，这是一个相当大的天主教教
士团。教会的资助和影响，都是通过这个教团，和这个教团派驻在校董会里面的神父达
成的。我们校长名字前面的Rev.说明他是个神父，后面的C.S.C.就说明了他所属的教团
教会学校还有一些，比如Boston College和Georgetown，他们和我们属于不同的教团，
他们属于Society of Jesus（又称Jesuits）他们S.J.是更大的一个教团，但也因为大
，所以资源更分散一些。。。
这些教团里面的神父和牧师，都代表了自己的教区和教堂，都管理着一份不小的教产，
集合起来，就能修大学了。。。教会分钱给学校主要是教团的决定。天主教的教廷应该
大致知道的这些教团的资产和分配情况，但是不具体管理。
