a team, so there were someone forming a team with members from 5-6 small
alumni
associations.
Other teams complained they might be too strong, so they suggested to put
them in
our group to have some challenges, it turned out we beat them 5:2.
But they came out 2nd in group RR but could not advance due to rule they
made.
Otherwise instead of Beida beat Xian Jiaoda, the united team would give
Beida a
lot more challenge |

just opens twice a week.
BTW, i moved to tri-valley, maybe our alumni league team could start
again, with lang/myself based on east bay, 3 of u guys based on south bay..
most likely we can play division 4.
Can u believe Lang lost to Mark Johnson at ICC tournament...?
in which case it is so surprising that JiaoDa could arrange the 4 singles
almost at the same order as ours?

to study at those 2 schools at the same time, and competed against each
other both in the univ. tt teams. |

champion.
We had a few close win.s: our Andrew came back from 1:2 to beat Jiaoda's #1
2100+ Alan Tang.
Lang and myself beat 2200+ James Liu and 1900+ Dell 3:1
Land beat James 3:1 too, i would guess Lang's level dropped at least 400
from 08 to 09 alumni team tour.
Lang/myself beat Alan Tang/Leland 3:0 in 08 but lost to them 2:3 in 09. |

timeout etc, so we started to play 3 singles first, we won all 3,
then we played 2 doubles at the same time, we won 1, so the tie
was over as 4:1.
Myself and Zhangtion didn't play our last singles. |

year, our #1 team has these same players in the past 5 years, no
new blood at all..
in the final, Jiaoda's old captain: 1900+ L C could not play at all,
neither in single nor in double, due to they wanted to beat us so
badly with 4 solid 2100+ players.
For our team, our #1 will turn to 60 yo next year, #2 has a chronicle

the captain paired up the 2100+ 802 player for years, but still changed
to pair with that newly improved LP 2150+ player.

the final score against Jiaoda was 4:2..
the double of DL and myself was 2:2, when you guys won the 5th game,
so we agreed to stop w/o starting the 5th game since the door was
closing, the elimination was whenever one team won 4 matches, the
tie should stop.

from TD, it turned out none of the top players of TW from TD.
Wilson from Jiaoda, MS and YM from THU, and JH is not from TD, even
BL and MHsing were not!

Jiaoda had mentioned to lead the work by turns since 07, we said:
if we organize, we would call it not OPC, instead, we call it ZiJing
cup, at a different time: end of April, since we had organized
Tsinghua cup volleyball tournaments for almost 10 years for local
Chinese VB groups.
we can make it as 4 singles, 3 doubles, min 4 male players plus 1
female, for example:

last year, Jiaoda/fudan almost canceled the OPC due to budget issue,
SJSU captain stood up and sponsored OPC s.t. it could happen.
hope this year, they could start earlier to look for sponsorship.
for us players, please less argument, do something to help it go
smoothly... |
