If the unemployment situation in this country were a cyclical issue (which
most people assume) than jobs would be being created left and right at this
point. We’d be well on our way back towards a more normal and acceptable
unemployment level. Unfortunately, this isn’t happening. Despite an “
improving economy” as we’re told.

楼主正在search faculty job，遇到了一个情况，想请教这里的老师和朋友。在此首先
感谢大家的时间和建议。
楼主背景：
理工科，国内读的硕士，牛老板，在国内同一个大领域内几乎大家都知道，对楼主也很
关照；
硕士毕业后来美国，在一个排名30左右的学校读的博士，导师不牛，现在也不是很活跃
，人不错，但是据说推荐信写得中规中矩，不会夸大事实，实验室出的学生还没有做
faculty的，几乎都在工业界工作；
博士期间跟另外一个实验室合作，合作的老板是牛老板，楼主跟他比较熟悉，他也是楼
主的推荐人之一，据说推荐信写得非常strong；
楼主毕业后先在另一个排名30左右的学校做博士后，做了两年，牛老板，很支持楼主找
faculty job，但做的方向不太热，那个方向找到教职非常困难。

Never saw job ads where low end job openings such as 保姆 are mixed with
high end jobs like CTO. Quite hilarious. ;-) Can we have sub discussion

我的背景：小弟有Master学位，在目前的公司一年，职位是Java Software Engineer.
有在1-3年内跳槽的打算。我在公司招聘网站上看到职位要求有这一行：
“Experience with MS degree in Computer Science, or related disciplines, or
equivalent work experiences”
但是经理提交给律所的job description上特意去掉了这一行，以及在requirements 和
preferences做了调整。但是这也的确是我们组招聘我这个level的要求，master并不
是必须的，对招聘者也只有1-2年的经验要求。
目前本人刚刚提交完材料，开始PERM申请，没什么经验，在网上也做了一点研究。但还
是有不少困惑，因此向大家请教一下几个问题：（主要是关于job description）
1. 是不是能争取到走EB2就尽量走EB2？因为EB2排期还是要短于EB3，另外就算EB3超前
了，也可以将EB2降级为EB3？

现在这个版也不知道怎么了，就这么荒凉了，我随便来说两句吧。
今年在job mkt上，我是读finance的，学校是一般的公立大学。
10月份fma面试，大概又10来所中国学校来，大部分都是南方的，因为我想回国，我都
投了。
除了一两所，大部分都给面试了。

现在这个版也不知道怎么了，就这么荒凉了，我随便来说两句吧。
今年在job mkt上，我是读finance的，学校是一般的公立大学。
10月份fma面试，大概又10来所中国学校来，大部分都是南方的，因为我想回国，我都
投了。
除了一两所，大部分都给面试了。
跟大家随便说说感觉吧。

Steve Jobs was a frequent guest at All Things D's annual D Conference,
appearing six times with D hosts Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg. After he
passed away last year, Swisher and Mossberg felt it was important to have a
session honoring Jobs and his legacy.
They asked Dr. Ed Catmull, who worked with Jobs for years at Pixar, as well
as Larry Ellison, the legendary CEO of Oracle who was one of Jobs' closest
friends, to appear and reflect on Jobs' life.

对于苹果本身，其实jobs 可能反倒会成为今后创新的束缚。
创新可能会被别人用jobs的名头一棒子打死，“jobs 曾经曰过。。。”
而如果能突破jobs的一些说法可能又引起苹果员工中一些教徒的不满
感觉苹果腾挪的空间小了。 |
