一个安全，可以有些户外活动 （比如散步),又离providence不要太远的区租一个
2bedroom或townhouse，预算在$1500以内.公司的小秘建议我近的可以看看cranston,
johnston, warwick，barrington这几个区，远的建议cumberland, North Attleboro(
MA), Wrentham(MA)这几个地方都比较nice.
可是我在版上考古好像有说cranston和johnston不太好，而公认的好区除了小米提到的
barrington, 还有lincoln, smithfield, east greenwich.
我人在外州，只能在craigslist上找，这么多地方实在无从下手。请版上的前辈能不能
具体说说这几个地方，给我一些建议？

中国的山水风景就是黄山和桂林。
一千多年的山水画的神韵全在于此。
黄山缺点是没有水，但山的俊秀兼有雄壮险峻，加之千变万化的云雾，
我觉得就是中国，甚至世上第一名山。
桂林则胜在山水相济，柔美婉转，不过似乎越南泰国有类似风景。
黄山和桂林，只要一个剪影，中国的历史文化仿佛都在里面了。
九寨和黄山桂林不同，没有历史文化积淀，完全以景致胜。
数数北美有可以比美以上的地方，美国本土基本没有，然而加拿大Banff绝对是北美山
水无可比肩者。banff胜在无穷座大山放大后有无穷个不同的美景，很多是需要hiking
的。
比如stewart canyon,属于banff中等略下水平，但如果放到其他地方绝对是名胜，
去过banff的都没几个人知道。
比如较著名的johnston canyon,去过的人才知道这个小小的瀑布至少和庐山瀑布，
Yosemite，Niagra等是一个等级的。 （当然这几个瀑布是完全不同风味的）
黄山脚下有一个拍藏龙卧虎出名的翡翠池，比起这个johnston canyon完全就是小儿科

Calgary出发，banff, Bow Falls，johnston canyon, moraine lake, lake louise
banff小镇挺漂亮的，小镇的bow fall就一般般了，比不上公园里无数的其他fall，
johnston canyon挺不错的，
赶上阴天和小雪，moraine lake, lake louise没有给我带来太多惊喜

yoho (natural bridge, emerald lake), 回头往jasper走， bow lake, peyto lake
yoho的takakkaw falls关了，ohara也关了要走22公里来回
emerald lake当时也是阴天，有点冷，要不划船应该感觉不错
在bow lake附近见了3头熊，非常兴奋哈，其中一头在我们车绕了一圈，还有一只呆在
bow lake三个多星期了，那酒店的人说的。这4天，见到熊比鹿还多
peyto很漂亮，不可思议的蓝，虽然也是阴天小雪

想做这个题目就必须去请外系的老师做main advisor，如果是这个样子，那么将来在IR的
job market上就不会很competitive；另外，在IR里面搞中国历史研究似乎从现在的Job
Market上看还是比较有优势的，他们举的是那个写《Cultural Realism: Strategic
Culture and Grand Strategy in Chinese History》的Johnston，他们说Johnston声称
研读了所有中国的古代经典（诸子百家），因为美国没有其他人做这个，所以不得不相信
他说的是真的，而中国人做这个由语言上的天然优势，肯定会比美国人做的好。。。
不过我现在还有不少时间，可以再多想想。。。

安河利明顿(Leamington)女子约翰斯顿(Laurie Johnston)告上法庭﹐向主诊医生索赔220万元。当局已展开调查﹐研究约翰斯顿和最少另一名女子为何误诊乳癌﹐错切乳房。
原诉人约翰斯顿控告手术医生哈特韦尔(Barbara Heartwell)、病理学家威廉斯(Olive Williams)、动手术的温莎主恩医院(Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital)﹐以及利明顿地区纪念医院(Leamington District Memorial Hospital)。
哈特韦尔在温莎递交答辩书﹐声言她没有疏忽﹐但她承认误读病理报告的最后结论。
案中其他被告已提交文件﹐表示有意答辩﹐但未提交答辩书。
哈特韦尔在答辩书中说﹐约翰斯顿切除乳房后﹐没「因手术失误表现不快」。
她的答辩书说﹕「约翰斯顿女士发现自己没患乳癌后﹐松了一口气。事实上﹐她对哈特韦尔医生的治疗从没担心或表现不满。」

去年同期售出的二手屋达到4437间。
地产局主席约翰斯顿(Bill Johnston)指出，去年夏季的销量远较长期的趋势理想，预计下半年的销量与去年同期相比，仍将会有所下降，直至销量回稳。
不过﹐他又指出﹐今年至今的二手屋销量与去年同期已上升逾18%，他仍期望今年的总体销量数字，仍将会是最好的一年之一。

发帖数: 5892 | 48 墨西哥海滨城市卡门海滨城(Playa del Carmen)酒店爆炸的原因尚在继续调查当中，现已确认七人在爆炸中身亡，其中五名加拿大人，两名墨西哥人，还有六名加拿大人受伤，其中两名伤势严重。
死亡的五名加拿大人来自不同省份，他们分别是卑诗省33岁的庄士顿(Malcolm Johnston)、亚伯达省41岁的查蒙特(Chris Charmont)及他九岁的儿子约翰(John)、亚伯达省爱民顿51岁的弗格森(Darlene Ferguson)、安省贵湖的巴伦(Elgin Barron)。
据报导，一名墨西哥酒吧招待员及一名酒店保安也死于这次爆炸。
墨西哥官员把这次爆炸归咎于在酒店地下蓄积的甲烷(methane)及其他气体，但有些专家却质疑这个说法。相关调查还在进行当中。
墨西哥政府机构称，酒店有一部分是建立在一个洞穴上方，洞穴约叁公尺高、120公尺宽，附近沼泽地的甲烷及其他气体飘至洞内，当这些气体累计至很高的浓度时，遭煮食的火花点燃引爆。
卡门海滨城公民保护署(Civil Defence)主任普克说，今年年初最近的一次对酒店检查，并没有检测到任何气体。

发帖数: 5892 | 49 一直被外界视为贫民区及罪恶温床的多伦多市丽晶园(Regent Part)﹐经政府推行一个长达15年的重建计划﹐希望能消除恶名。这本属好事，但根据滑铁卢大学一名教授所做的研究显示﹐丽晶园原居民却另有感受﹐认为从拆迁开始至重新上楼的安排﹐他们均未获咨询﹐令他们失去对小区原有的归属感。
当局于2005年展开丽晶园重建计划﹐建立一个有多达5,115个居住单位的高密度住宅区。将商业及公园引入新的丽晶园同时﹐亦为屋苑带来新住客。
部分由多伦多小区房屋公司所拥有的住屋单位﹐将继续按租客的收入征收租金外﹐其它则由发展商按市值出租。
滑铁卢大学教授约翰斯顿(Laura Johnston)跟进其中50户家庭﹐研究他们由丽晶园拆卸至新屋苑落成﹐安排旧住客重新上楼的情况﹐发现大部分住户均感到挫败﹑无助及不被尊重。
首先﹐原居民对新屋苑的设计及环境没有太多参与权﹐最后决定权往往落在发展商身上。
当新屋苑落成﹐获优先上楼住户的审批标准﹐亦令原居民感到不满。有受访者认为﹐小区房屋公司刻意挑选一些质素较好的住户上楼。

发帖数: 5892 | 50 联邦总理哈珀（Stephen Harper ）在昨天（4日）公布内阁微调名单，共有4名部长的位置发生调动，其中包括肯特（Peter Kent）由美洲事务部长（State for Foreign Affairs of the Americas）转任环境部长（Environment Minister），新科国会议员范天奴（Julian Fantino）出任负责老年事务的部长（minister of state for seniors）。
