for an hour. Then I bought the book, and finished most of it over a trip --
mostly during the night stuck at Denver airport. The book gave a humorous
depiction of the lifestyle and mores in the fictitious town called Lake
Wobegon, Minnesota.

Home Companion, the guy, Garrison Keillor, makes fun of English majors all
the time, as they were the biggest losers in the whole universe. But he
himself is an English major, and he's doing fine.
English (or Chinese) majors will never be as hot as law, business, and
medical schools. That's the way it is. You don't need to justify your choice, if you really love it.
The piece sounds awfully defensive.

只让我想到那种莫言拿奖之前肯定不拿其当回事，一旦有个奖贴了层金，马上就觉得其
是文坛先锋了的人。。。。

后者是个2小时的综合节目，由Garrison Keillor 主持，有说有唱，有迷你广播剧，有
笑话，非常有意思。
如果你喜欢科技，推荐周五下午的all things considered--Science Friday. 非常有
知识性。
饮食方面有周末的 Splendid Table。 周末的综合节目 The Weekend Edition也是非常
的棒。
每天下午的Market Place也是我的最爱。
