Kiplinger網站報導，是否有必要購買保險，有兩個考量：一是會否造成慘重損失，例
如賺錢養家者死亡、火災把住家燒毀或是嚴重車禍，就會造成嚴重財務損失，否則就不
用買保險。二是保險是否全面，不要買局部保險，有些保險涵蓋合理的風險如死亡或意
外，但其理賠不符成本效益。有些保險有很多不獲理賠的排除條款，可能不涵蓋你最擔
心的風險。以下列舉出五種不必購買的保險：
信用人壽與殘障保險：這種保險會在你死亡或殘障時，付清你的貸款。保費看來便宜，
但理賠也付得少，只涵蓋貸款餘額。你應有足夠的殘障保險（通常透過雇主購買）和人
壽保險來助你支付所有開銷，而不是只有支付債務。另外一種意外死亡與殘障保險也不
用買。
房貸人壽保險：假如你死亡，但房貸未付清，這種保險會幫你付清。與理賠金額比起來
，房貸壽險的保費算貴，它只付清房貸，你的繼承人無法用這筆錢做其他事。假如你有

加州是个好地方，海滩，山峦，国家公园应有尽有，高科技公司多如牛毛，天气更
是无与伦比。但是有一个问题：加州政府实在是太左了，左得无法无天。
深蓝州民主党政客关心的无非是这么几件事：增加福利养票仓，保护罪犯，引进非
移，毒品合法化，加税，加税，加税...
加州州税全美最高，达到13.3%，竞争对手德州是0%；
如果税改通过，州税不能再抵税了，13.3 vs 0 的区别将更加明显；
汽油税已经居高不下，刚刚又通过法案增收520亿美元；
连续12年荣获对企业最不友好的州称号；

个人觉得这些杂志的pick 可以作为大家选股时的参考， 如要购买这上面的股票的话需
要进一步研究。 我个人是从来不买自己没研究过的公司的股票。因为我自己是做长线
的，我从自己的经验里面学到的最有价值之一的东西就是，不是自己真正深入了解的公

了。当然房价贵不贵，泡沫什么时候破灭，这是专家学者也搞不清，预测不准的东西。
人的观念和他的位置很有关系。所以简单说一下我自己，在Washington, DC工作有一个
Townhouse，在上海没有房子。
（因为没有房），自然觉得上海房价太高，什么时候应该会跌下来。想引用一个简单的
公式，叫Price to Rent Radio。大概就是房价除以一年的房租。比如说2百万的房子，
月租3千元，那这个Price to Rent计算下来就是2,000,000/(3,000*12)，结果是55.6。
按照下面这个美国网站（Trulia)上的一个计算，Price to Rent Radio如果超过20，那
租房是更合算的。

查显示，埃默里大学的招生办公室和制度研究办公室最早至少从2000年开始，向美国知
名大学排名机构提供被录取学生的SAT和ACT成绩，而非实际报到入学学生的成绩。按要
求应该是报后者，因为相当数量的被录取学生最后可能选择了别的学校。如此计算相当
于成绩造假，人为地抬高了录取分数。以2010年的新生情况为例，埃默里上报中间50%
学生的SAT成绩在1310 - 1500分（阅读和数学两个科目），但实际上，中间50%学生的
成绩只有在1270 – 1460分的水平。

理財雜誌Kiplinger根據對退休者很重要的多個因素，為50州排名。高生活費，特別是

的限制。那对于那些收入超过限制无法contribute ROTH IRA的人，如果先投入一个non
deductible的IRA，然后转入ROTH，不就行了吗？
考虑漏了什么呢？
