我的绿卡申请, 是一个多星期的疯狂准备和十个月多的等待. 我在这里谈一些体会, 是
想与大家分享心得. 我不是移民专家, 也只办过自己的个案, 我所写的, 各位只当是一
家之言. 在决定不请律师自己办EB-1a之前, 我觉得有两件事先要评估. 第一是自己的
个案有多强. Is your case strong enough? 第二是自己的英文有多好. Is your
English good enough? 毕竟好律师的专业知识和办案经验是无可取代的.
我在中国的医学院拿到学士, 硕士和博士学位, 在加拿大的实验室干过几年, 老板是一
个非常优秀的科学家. 我所研究的是一种几乎人人知名, 对人类健康和全球畜牧业影响
甚巨, 而对于普通人又有神秘感的疾病. 作为第一或第二作者, 我在好杂志上发表了约

从3月23日晚上突发奇想要办EB1a，今天终于告一段落了。没有PP，不光是自己条件差，更多的是人穷志短，舍不得那1000大洋。
看了Landmark和KevenShen的petition letter，比较合我心，非常感谢！不过最后还是自己弄了简洁版，实在是心力憔悴，时间有限，citations也不够多，在contribution里也只写了一作最近的研究工作，其它二作一类的都也只在publication提一下，也没提citations。
就这样了。我也尽力了。望老天成全我诚心则个。 |

2006.12 NIW (2008.02 approved);被这个鸡肋给耽误了，一直没考虑EB1A；
2007.7 485 filed （被律师搞错LD出生日期，后患。）

2009.11.23 RFE
2009.12.24 RFE received
2010.3.5 denied
2010.5.7 PP EB1a DIY--本来应该被拒后立即重办，但是因为其他琐事忙乱，到5月才递。
参考了大侠们的建议，基本是原来的申请书 + RFE 合成版；
2010.5.19 短信通知，上网看，5.18日批了 （此前一直无任何LUD）。

I downloaded All the AAO decisions for the past three years. I read one by one for a total number of more than 200 decisions. I took good paragraphs from recommendation letters which IOs thought have met criterion of contribution. Because the works were from PDF files, I had to reformat them into word file.

长度2-5页。 有长有短也可。 短的1页，长的5页， 也没有什么问题。 一般来说，大

好吧，我承认我就是推荐信的坚定推崇者。
有同学说，那比如NSC0214之流不是只看客观证据而无视推荐信吗？我认为任何一个阿
姨哦都只看重（不止是看，而是看重）客观证据，所以他他要尽量读懂你那几百页的客
观材料是什么东西、分量几何。所谓无视推荐信是他不得不无视，概因推荐信无物，甚
至是毒药；否则，他巴不得去读。
如何写好推荐信是个永远也研究不完的课题。某不才，矢志琢磨之，与时俱进，希望能
跟上越来越严苛的审理标准。本拙帖讲主要和大伙探讨下推荐信写作中所谓地雷词的问
题。

正所谓成也推荐信，败也推荐信。移民官读推荐信就好比是在景区欣赏风景。风景如画
，他老人家正想赋诗一首抒发情怀呢，但如果脚下大小水坑不断，头顶新鲜鸟屎连连，
恐怕他会雅兴全无甚至大骂而去。
如何做到风景如画是个永远也回答不完的系统问题，但我们可以先从较简单的事情----
补水坑去鸟屎----做起。其实每天都会有新的水、鸟词语产生，就像每天都会有新的单
词被发明一样。仅靠拙帖是不可能穷举的。只能靠对申请策略的理解来尽量的避免和排
除这类词，把这些地雷从你的推荐信乃至PL里面挖掉。

发帖数: 112 | 45 推荐信没有注意避免REF高频表达，只有在PL里面仔细弥补.主要有几点
1. 要强掉工作的原创性: eg. the first researcher to solve sth, serves a true
landmark in field, etc
2. 要强调small top percentage: leading scientist, among to 10%, (1% if
possible), highest quality.etc
3. 论述significant impact: 推荐信要大力论述被引用工作的重要性,是别人继续研究
的基础. 工业界high volume production, 同一个工作组的反复引用.论证用词要避免
RFE高频词
4. 由于推荐信是同时准备了NIW, 所以也有1/3 的篇幅是大幅论证对美国的重要性
5. 感觉是要增加一些具体的例子来提高可读性和感染力
.后来我安排了一些生活中的例子,比如手机,无人机之类具体场景使研究容易被读懂.
到最后觉得就是把写paper的力气都用上了,仔细核对逻辑,调整论述次序,提高可读性.
仔细安排发掘出来的亮点.

Just look at the slavery, segregation. Now, you think it is injust. But
hundreds of years ago, the majority think they are norm.

非法移民，因为他打算直接让让非移合法化。所以即使边境安全争议解决了，还有医保
问题。下面是华盛顿邮报周日的原文。地下室索男花了成千上万去办绿卡，交税。居然
有华裔利钵肉说强制让非法移民买保险“impose an insurmountable burden on them
“并且”discourage people from coming out of the shadows to apply for legal
status”。我操，为省一点医保费都能让非法移民不去申请合法化。这合法化太廉价，
热脸蹭非移的冷屁股。
