除了我经历的三次，新闻里还有一次：
08 年有个华人艺术家从 Maryland 来这里参加一个 three-river 艺术展。开辆租来的 Chevy Uplander (Van)，在痞子宝逆行进入 I-279，和一辆 Grand Cherokee（第一代）对撞。开大切的老美被当场撞死，艺术家受伤。去年被本地的检察官起诉。不知道后来结果怎么样了。

Musial arrived shortly after 11 a.m. at the St. Louis Cathedral Basilica for
today's funeral Mass.

因为他要对付的是LA bottom of the order，
6，7，8号击手。
两个地滚球，很快就波澜不惊地两人出局了。
这时道奇教练Tommy La Sorda宣布换人，
换上了原As球员，左打Mike Davis。
如果说Eck有任何缺陷的话，那就是由于他是side arm投手，
对付左打没有象对付右打那样得心应手。不过这个pinch hit
还是出乎了所有人的意料，因为下一个spot就是投手位置，
而Davis是LA板凳上剩下的最后一名hitter了。
Tony LaRussa琢磨了半天，认为La Sorda是孤注一掷，
多活一会儿是一会儿，急不可耐打出最后一张牌。
这时候tony又犯了喜欢overmanage的毛病，
心想偶来个避实击虚，于是指示eckersley pitch around，
不要给他任何机会drive deep。
Eck是个脑子非常清楚的投手，不会冲动乱来，

2) Mulder wanted to come back since he said "St Louis has never seen

也都不见了，怀念当年一起调侃，玩Fantasy的日子...
十年前的Mid-Summer-Classic，我开始看棒球，那次是在Milvaukee，
记忆中唯一一次All-Star Game打平的，那之后开始喜欢上看棒球...，
昨天在国内看了今年All Star Game的录像，发现认识的球员（现役旧金
山巨人的除外）就这么几位了：David Wright、Chipper Jones、
Paul Konerko、Carlos Beltran、Adam Dunn、Rafel Furcal、Adrian
Beltre...。Larussa太叔和我们A's的三垒教练Washington统帅两队...
十年间，看棒球给我带来很多快乐，怀念ESPN和FOX的转播，怀念ESPN
的主播，也是巨人队的official voice--Jon Miller，怀念在这个版一起调侃
的朋友们：Neverlearn、Maclaonie、bmouse、Yankees、gardenia...

我看的一篇英文报道是强调KC 皇家队的先发投手一般只投六局，后面就交给救援投手
了。所以大部分时候先发投手在他投的六局中，面对的打击手是会超过18个。但是，如
果7局时在投，打击手上垒的机会就会提高很多。
再展开点说。
另外一个队是Tampa Bay 的Rays。 这也是一个小市场队，财力有限，他们也是用这种
办法提高成绩，不过由于几个核心投手过早跳入自由球员市场，所以季后赛成绩不那么
突出。
现在芝加哥小熊队的经理是Maddon, 他是从Tampa Bay 的Rays 跳出来的。但是我没有
机会去查看他们投手的数据。如果小熊队也采用类似的手段，我也不惊讶。事实上，小
熊队今年就算表现很出色了。我期待他们明年会有更好的表现。
反面的例子太多了，Ｄｏｄｇｅｒｓ, Ｎａｔｉｏｎａｌｓ, 现在的Ｙａｎｋｅｅｓ
, 以前的Ｂｒａｖｅｓ. 几个队员占那么多的工资，队里的Ｃｈｅｍｉｓｔｒｙ就会
