DONALD J. TRUMP: ADDRESS ON IMMIGRATION
Thank you, Phoenix. I am so glad to be back in Arizona, a state that has a
very special place in my heart.
I love the people of Arizona and, together, we are going to win the White
House in November.
Tonight is not going to be a normal rally speech.
Instead, I am going to deliver a detailed policy address on one of the
greatest challenges facing our country today: immigration.
I have just landed having returned from a very important and s... 阅读全帖

Visas Could Aid Graduates
By LAURA MECKLER
Momentum is building in Congress toward offering expedited green cards to
people with advanced scientific degrees, addressing complaints from
companies that say the U.S. is training highly skilled workers only to lose
them to other countries.
Rep. Lamar Smith (R., Texas), chairman of the House immigration subcommittee
, said he plans to introduce legislation providing up to 10,000 visas a year
to foreign students graduating from U.S. universities with d... 阅读全帖

It is impractical to expect an executive order for legals. We need to ask
ourselves what have done till now to deserve an executive order. We have to
closely look at all the advocacy efforts dream advocates have done till now.
We as a community have not even done a small fraction of that. It will be a
rude post to many but this is the bitter truth. All we see on forums is eb2
fighting with eb3 . Row fighting with india china etc etc... 阅读全帖

WSJ截选:The eight House lawmakers revealed few details of their plan, other
than to say it would differ from the bipartisan proposal unveiled in the
Senate last month.
"There are going to be differences with the Senate bill," Mr. Diaz-Balart
said. The House legislation still must be put into final form, and lawmakers
plan to pore over it line-by-line before filing the bill, he said.

Senate negotiators have clinched a deal that would double the number of
patrol agents and double the length of fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border,
giving the Senate immigration reform bill a major boost.
Sens. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) and John Hoeven (R-N.D.) announced the agreement
Thursday afternoon and predicted it could secure the votes of as many as 15
Republicans for final passage.
The amendment is expected to cost more than $30 billion, and members of the
Gang of Eight expressed confidence ... 阅读全帖

Every Senate Republican leader will vote against the immigration reform bill
this week.
Those votes will increase Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) leverage with the
White House and Senate Democrats. But congressional experts say the Senate
GOP’s opposition decreases the chances that President Obama will sign an
immigration measure into law this year.
The unified leadership front against the pending Senate bill will help
Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) fend off calls to schedule a House vote on it.

House Republicans seem to be determined to break the bill:

The Senate is poised to pass a comprehensive immigration bill this week.
Immigration reform proponents will cheer! Immigrant activists will cry tears
of joy! DREAMers will dream bigger dreams!
Not to be a heartbreaker, but this party probably won't last long.
The Republican-controlled House of Representatives hasn't the slightest
intention of passing the thing as a whole, sa... 阅读全帖
