得去政府指定的学校就学毕业了才能拿DL，虽然进这个学校对老中来说没什么难度。
有难度的比如学医，这种职业完全不能self learning,你要考board连啥课多少学分都
有规定，电工也一样，你得去技工学校，修车工也不例外，虽然我老修车技术美国第一
，但还是没有啥ASE的执照。
美国的职场比中国死多了，相比之下，在中国就是连考博士生都能同等学力---我他妈
的高中文凭，自称自学物理就可以考了，谁也不会拦你，更多的是很多人默默地给你开
绿灯，因为这样的人很unusual ,老中喜欢unusual的人。
正因为如此，你们在中国从来没听说过痛苦的生物千老，痛苦的生物千老只有美国才有

理由：machine learning 机会更多，不只academia，还有很多的industry机会，这样
给自己留更宽的后路。
从academia角度出发，跟application（biomedical）更紧密一点，比较容易拿funding
，但是做ML的也能做的跟application很紧密，取决于你怎么做。 |

genomic data用到machine learning挺多的，但是如果你的结论对biologist来说不
make sense，那就不make sense，他们不买账，你就没辙。 话虽如此，

2. 请远离印度医生，远离Overlake hospital,去UW后者Swedish吧: niumum总结的好，
“他们的习惯和民族性决定了他们中大多数人不在乎別人（贱民）的生命。做事投机取
巧，草菅人命” Overlake hospital因为是个一般的医院，所以医生水平平庸是可以预
见的。中国医生和美国医生更靠谱些，尤其是有些中国医生出身医学世家，医德高尚。
3. 如果拿到不好的诊断，大的诊疗中心专家second opinion的重要性，不要轻信一般
诊疗中心做出的结论

标 题: fresh cs master找工作的疑惑以及machine learning的应用问题，请指点一下！

可是做过的project基本就是machine learning在具体问题中的的一些application基本
都是matlab中做的，所有的啥svm阿NN阿不是matlab中自带的functions就是利用比如说
svm-light package之类的，再根据具体问题按照一定procedure找出好参数拉，找好
model阿串起来。
一般cs master准备面试如果像备考那样看数据结构和算法，加上一门c++或java，大概
就是这个样子吧。我觉得即使这些我准备的很好还是有几大硬伤：
1.project没有正经用java或c++做过
2.作的东西也都是把现成的算法试来试去来解决问题，没有什么自己的创新。感觉我做
的东西挺弱的：code没啥技术含量，好像也从未涉及过什么高深的算法或那些很流行的 |

发帖数: 1602 | 46 最近看了下machine learning，感觉很多idea挺有意思，虽然也不是很新。感觉搞
machine learning研究的，主要都用概率统计，比如Beyesian information 和EE那些
搞信息论，detection and estimation的用的东西很像。
classifer一定程度上，也可以理解成多元检测。
还有EE里搞compressed sensing，在ML里也看到搞dimension reduction用到。
neural network里的back propagation还有点像EE里coding的，都用message passing。
当然了，convex optimization在EE的信号处理和ML里都用到不少。
搞ML是不是很多东西可以借鉴EE里现成的啊？ML里最前沿的研究都是做什么啊？听说
data scientist也不怎么像马工那样写code。
EE（通信理论方向的）转ML，当data scientist是不是也比较自然啊？ |

下面是个人背景：
教育： 本科和phd都是非EE/CS的工科，现在是phd最后一年，本科有统计的minor, 博
士期间也修了不少统计的课，统计基础还算扎实。本科和博士的学校牌子都还可以。
研究： 博士期间做bioinformatics的，主要做disease classification and
clustering, 对各种machine learning的模型都有涉猎，但都学的不是很深。
编程：主要是matlab，用C++刷了leetcode一遍，SQL, R，Python都会一点。
最理想的职位是entry level的data scientist，可以把积累的一些machine learning
和统计的知识用在工作中，去tech公司,药厂都行。但感觉这行门槛高，很难进。纯SDE
我也愿意申请，一直没断了做题，状态应该也还可以。
感觉没有科班学位，也没有工作经验，第一份工作很难找呀，如果哪位大侠肯帮忙，我
会好好复习，认真面试，争取不给您丢人。我很勤奋，学习东西也挺快的，工作态度认
