长话短说吧，我前一阵子在National租了一个月的车，当时用了学校的Contract ID，免
了LDW和CDW，当时还加了两个authorized driver，姑且称之为B和C（我是A）。租车的
时候用的是第四个人，也就是D的信用卡，国内的招行卡，没有附带租车保险。
本来租一个月一直平平安安的，结果最后一天还车路上，出事儿了。当时是B开车，结
果撞到了路边，整个车头凹下去一块儿，前脸基本上都塌了，然后车牌子也掉了。然后
当时在National claim了保险，结果是不管authorized还是renter出的事故，都是
claim在renter名下的。这个我认了。因为Contract ID里面含了LDW和CDW，所以当时觉
得这事儿也就这么过去了。
National car rental 有和各个公司的合作协议。每家公司对应一个Contract ID，类似

+ times renting a car for 23 hours or so, and at least 800 miles by myself
each time. Cheap way spending a leisure day. I've also driven my own car
for 2 or 3 days for longer trips (1000+miles) but may need to spend one
night at motel (cost money which I didn't like but have to, I was very cheap
and HEALTHY then). Driving (mainly gasoline price) was really inexpensive
until 10

chasis. class B的好处是可以当第二辆家庭用车。好开好停。但是空间小。MB
sprinter class B 都不便宜。买二手的好了。适合退休后一年出去2-3个月的。HOA 一
般不管 van parking. |

load a lot more information for it to work.
Word is ugly. But you can write in Word with half of the mental capacity.
This is similar to using R versus SAS in statistical analysis. R is more
elegant but more demanding. SAS can be a mess but you can do in half leisure
state. |

发帖数: 2992 | 50 这种生活对别的职业是天堂，对科研是个disaster。科研必须要一定的连贯性和强度才
能有所accomplishment，从事的人才能从中enjoy并得到自我肯定。就像外科手术，是
操刀的医生累，还是站在旁边递工具的助手累？肯定是后者。对前者来说，他有紧要的
任务在眼前，他的mind is occupied。只有护士才会不断觉察到腰酸腿疼，不断看表。
最近见了博导，我说为啥我有些同事能让酱油本科生每周工作八个小时。她说，本科生
必须工作八个小时。如果他们不够点数，他们就无法真正get involved。They often
end up negatively about research.
她的一席话让我整个人生观都变了。不单是本科生科研，什么事情都是这样。教课，如
果你不怎么布置作业，考试简单，也许学生的课评不会太差，但也不会太好。最后想起
你这门课，最有可能根本都想不起来。相反，Let them work hard, challenge them,
let them suffer. 在上课过程中，或许他们叫苦连天，但过后会有成就感，会记得这
门tough的课这个tough的老师。
