Lendl差不多比Federer大21.5岁，现在的Federer和1991年的Lendl有可比性。
Lendl 24岁时候才第一次夺得GS. 老费稍微好点，22岁不到一点。
Lendl 1990年最后一次夺得澳网，此后一直到1994年退役，再也未夺冠。
老费目前最后一次夺冠为2010澳网。
1991年Lendl夺得澳网亚军和美网4强。2011年目前老费夺得澳网4强。
此后老费到底走Lendl路线还是老桑路线，偶们不得而知。

1) 最著名的莫过于Connors-Lendl. 两人相差6.5岁。
一开始Connors仗着Lendl初出茅庐，8-0。
然后Lendl开始赢球了，两人互有胜负，13-6.
然后Connors就杯具了，连输17次。13-23.
2) Connors-McEnore, 相差5岁。

Connors was 32 in 1984 when he last beat Lendl, when Lendl was
already world #1. Actually until till then, Connors still
led the H2H by 13:5.
But then, Lendl won 17 matches in a row. They are 8 years apart.
Note in 1992 US Open (their last meeting), the 40 year old
Connors still won a set from the 32 year old Lendl.
What's your take? Does it make Connors a better player than
Lendl? |

In terms of pure mental toughness and guts, that game have to be ranked top
3 of all time... Lendl aka "Ivan the Terrible" is legendary for being
mentally tough. Last time Chang played Lendl on clay, Lendl easily
destroyed him. This is probably one of the best clay court matches ever,
not so much in terms of showing fancy shots, but in terms of the spirit of
the clay court game.

Lendl build his game around his huge forehand, where Murray build his game
around his craft, mix up the pace, frustrate the opponent (although he often
get frustrated himself)
Base on what I read and heard, I think Lendl mentally is much more calm than
Murray during a match.
What lendl did to Murray is have him impose forehand more. Basically instead

This is not a "chicken or egg" question.
Some points I don't agree with you:
1) Most importantly, I always assume 器材决定打法, not the
opposite. Lendl时代职业网球已经很完善，顶尖选手的打法是数以
几十万职业选手摸索检验出的适应当时器材的最容易出成绩的打法。
2) Lendl时代的小力拍，Control只有比现在更好，而不是更差。Borg
可以很轻易打出50回合以上。当今比赛能打到30回合都很罕见。偶自己
用的25年前的拍子，感觉最不缺的就是控制方向能力。
3）Windshield wiper之所以Lendl时代不存在，是因为打不出来。你去
找一块木拍（65拍面，18x20）试试就知道了。古典拍缺的就是力量，
你还要靠windshield wiper用力量换旋转，基本上是自杀。

from top professionals. If you were ever watching tennis live at courtside,

神岁数大了的比赛不算，或者H2H少于几次的不算。当然最好不要把Lendl或者McEnroe
之类的排掉，一下能加好多个GS，虽然Lendl遇Sampras时候岁数也不小了，93/94基本
就是一二轮游的样子。 |

发帖数: 30533 | 36 今晨的比赛，偶很欣喜地发现Murray的体能状况比去年同期好，比去年
决赛更是要好很多。
第一盘虽然是3-6输，但是对比起去年决赛第一盘的4-6, 偶的感觉要
好很多。正手的UE失分多数是技术问题，timing找不好，而不是移动
不到位，和去年的反手UE性质不一样。
第二盘开始正手work了，就可以和Joker抗衡了。体力和心理都没有问题。
到了第四盘开始体力才下降，而Joker却恢复了一些，这才溃败。（当然，
第4盘到0-4后他就基本放弃了，实际悬殊没有那么大。有趣的是一般人
会争取决胜盘先发球，但是Murray过分相信自己的接发能力，宁可先
接发，于是选择直接1-6输，最后一局发球局就发了几个球，走都懒得走。）
和以前类似的比赛相比，偶没有发现进步主要是在心理方面。Murray在
体能良好的情况下，破发点发ace是常有的事情，被破后反破也是家常
便饭，例如2010年QF对Nadal. 相反，偶仍然认为进步主要在更有效的
保存体力上。
1）以前澳网，Murray开赛前经常和Joker踢足球，但是今年没有。原因是

is how effective is that in winning matches. Most of the time you can't
get there in time to hit the proper ball.
McEnroe is by far the best at his age group. He owns his old foes easily,
e.g. Borg, Lendl, even younger guys like Becker. Beside his fitness, his
style is probably more suitable for a 55 year old as hard hitting Lendl or
Borg.

1) McEnroe won 7 GSs.
2) McEnroe ended his career lagging Lendl in H2H. There is a reason Lendl
ranked very high in historical achievement, although he only won 8 GSs. |

已经GS决赛4连败的Lendl连扳了3盘。也就是说，他不是你想象的那种“老费躲红土”。
