在Oracle 9i 有一个称为超大内存的选项，他可以使Oracle 在32位平台上，通过使用共
享文件系统创建大小超过32位系统寻址范围的数据库和内存空间。 但是，在实际使用中
，我们发现在某些场合下， 由于在某一区域映射空间的方法，应用这一特性会造成内核
存储空间的碎片。由此导致在这片空间里能容纳的进程有限。
Oracle 通过与Red Hat 还有 SuSE合作，提供了一个API—Remap File Pages (文件页重
新映射)。 这个API已经包含在Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 中，SuSE Linux
Enterprise Server 9 也将包含这个API. 由于Remap File Pages能够避免内存碎片以及
不使用低端内存，它能使系统提供更多更快的连接和稳定的性能。Linux Engineering at
Oracle 的主管Wim Coekaerts 介绍说:这个补丁已经包含在Oracle 10g 中，当用户使用
超大内存选项时，它将自动使用这一功能.

ifconfig" to change your linux machine's ip address to the one ducmented in
the windows configuration guide.
by default, the router's ip address should 192.168.0.1
you should ifconfig your linux interface address to 192.168.0.2 with netmask
255.255.255.0 gateway to 192.168.0.1
just use username "admin" password "password" or "" to login the web
interface.

The main difference is price. And the reason for higher price of most
vendors is they have too many bad software engineers.
To network engineers, the difference is whether to expose linux commands to
the user or to have a unified cli. People have different preferences, and
most cli sucks.
Also, linux support for network device (routing/switching) is not very good.

Thinkpad T61, 2G+2G
Dell Dimension 5150, 4x1G
BIOS和硬件测试软件(比如Everest)都确定系统安装了4G内存
现在的问题是操作系统无法全部使用。
T61, 在Windows XP 32bit, Windows Server 2003 32bit, Linux 32/64bit
下都一样，只有3G
5150， 在Windows XP sp3 32bit, Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 32bit/64bit,
Windows Server 2003 32bit, Linux 32bit/64bit下也都一样，
只有3.3G.
(以上的linux kernel中都配置了大内存的支持）
google了一下，好像是由于PCI设备的memory mapping, 可以在BIOS中设置一下
remapping.但是我的这俩个电脑的BIOS中没有这个选项。
请教各位大虾，这种情况下是不是没有办法让操作系统使用4G?
有没有thinkpad t61或dimension 5150的用户可以 |

的windows server版的一些软件，不知道linux下也需不需要类似的软件，还是说有
driver就行，完全不用操心。
另外，网上一般不会列出raid的硬件型号，不知道linux的driver全不全，是不是只能
google一下有没有人用用同样的server装linux？ |

现在系统倒是装上了，没有空间来展开任何package了。又挂了一个硬盘在pogoplug上
，结果系统还不认。
现在刷了系统，退不回原来的pogoplug了，所以不能换个硬盘重新操作一遍了。
可是哪怕现在想换个大点的硬盘重新装一遍linux, 在现在启动到linux之后，我就不会装了。 |

非常小的主板，用16g flash作硬盘，一定要无风扇，有dvi/vga接显示器
蓝牙键盘和蓝牙鼠标，usb的键盘鼠标也可考虑
系统就装debian，连到服务器上用console就可以
不知道从那里开始，主要是不知道从那里买这些零件。

其实楼上说的都没错，libreoffice和 wps都不够完美，不过普通的文档处理都可以，
实在不行还有office online，google doc。
如果是专业的编辑文档，显然latex是首选，如果是业余以上足够
如果你想用在工作/合法途径，linux其实才是最不缺失应用。windows基本随便干个啥
都要交钱买软件，很多还真不如linux下面好用，大部分免费，功能强大，社区支持也
很完善，只要你肯放狗搜没啥办不到.
windows还有个大问题是病毒，然后装个杀毒软件又卡成b样，既没security又没
performance，说linux折腾的想象windows用户每个月与病毒抗争重装系统等待死机重
启蓝屏强制update被后门强插。。。 |

但是不建虚拟磁盘，而是直接挂载Linux分区。
这样既有双系统用，临时需要用Linux也可以不重启。
Linux下面apt-get install open-vm-tools-desktop
实测各种驱动无冲突（nvidia闭源驱动除外） |

因为linux干活还是需要性能考虑的，windows用来补全必要的软件(Word, etc)
如果你还要游戏就没办法了
我有两年干活PC就这个配置，windows主要是老板要word ppt 没办法
另外，因为linux DE比较灵活，所以linux host windows guest比反过来好用多了
不管是无缝模式
还是在单独桌面全屏windows
都很好用 |

的不说，最近几年改wayland后很多gui都改用java script了，而且用的是mozilla的
spidermonkey的DIY版mozjs-52,那个bug多啊，screen一 unlock gui就crash, 三哥好
歹还给你们个警告。。。
所以你们用windows 10的还是老老实实用windows 10,发现问题解决问题才是正路，

但现在你说的哪条不是假设？事实上microsoft最怕厂家卖不带windows的机器，道理很
简单，想想为啥windows要预装ie而不是firefox呢？Windows和linux的区别只是生活习
惯的区别而已，见过很多毛男毛女都用linux，虽然没有windows那么爽，但也不见得怎

花了些时间研究这个问题. 写下来希望对大家有所帮助.
0. 动机
Netmeeting在NAT router后不能正常使用. 通常的现象是可以发送声音和图像,
但是无法接收. 其他的软件如MSN Messenger也有类似的问题. Yahoo!Messenger
倒是可是正常运行, 但是中文V5.5版的图像质量太差, 只有1帧/秒. 而且通话时
不能双方同时说话. (也许是我没有设置好?)

internet. I chose directTV DSL because they give a dynamic IP so I can host a
website on the linux server.
I followed the instructions to set up the hardware. The last step is to browse

他的程序是take an input flat file,
then write out an output file,
then, 我只要再读入他的output file 就可以了
他只给了我compile 之后的binary file
可以在linux下run, like this:
compliedFile arg1 arg2
我的程序是java的，不知道java可不可以run linux command?
以前用过perl插入linux command
