Ancient China was creative, leading the world in numerous inventions. But
nothing from China in the past five centuries has shaken the world.
China has only itself to blame. In the period,

美国公司特彼勒(Caterpillar Inc.)以为，收购郑州四维是它在有利可图但挑战重重的
中国市场增加胜算的一条途径。
四维的销售收入和利润都在大幅增长。而且通过这家公司可以打入本土公司都在发财的
中国采矿行业。
出售矿山安全设备的郑州四维还有美国血统，在被卡特彼勒收购前，其控股股东是詹姆
斯•汤普森三世(James E. Thompson III)以及卫兴华(Emory Williams)，他们前
者出生于一个在亚洲取得了巨大商业成功的外国侨民家族，后者曾任中国美国商会(
American Chamber of Commerce in China)主席。卡特彼勒去年6月出资约7亿美元收购
了郑州四维的母公司年代煤矿机电设备制造有限公司(ERA Mining Machinery Limited)。
