突然之间想讲讲homeschooling。。。
（由时事引起的感慨，但请不要在这里讨论时事，无论双方对错，我不想作为一个陌生

以前ex对美国学校系统有强烈恐惧感，尤其怕孩子在其中会变得道德败坏，所以在他建
议下，我曾经严肃考虑过homeschooling这个option。我自己估计能力上能吃得消，中
英数，phy-chem-bi，拉丁文，意大利文，能把孩子平安送过SAT II应该没有问题，AMC
竞赛应该也能送到一定程度，估计历史难点。表面看，homeschooling对我这样的家长
而言还真有吸引力，这样孩子还能有个比较单纯的成长环境，不用太担心乱七八糟的暴
力啊bully啊性啊等问题，而且肯定得到全心全意的教导，能因材施教。
但实际一想就不妥了。因为这样无疑中让孩子置身于一个“消毒”的成长环境，这样成

fiction，在涉及 philosophy / emotion / social 的方面的，age-appropriate
是切实存在的，因为 brain frontal lobe control 的问题，还有社会经验的问题
。。。
所以超前蛙的 lexile 1100，很多确实只能拿来读 non-fiction 。。。 |

这个小学四年级的娃娃就知道，NFL 的 TBI/CTE 的案子和研究，明摆着告诉我们

, spontaneity, memory, language, initiation, judgement, impulse control, and
social and sexual behavior。。。这些才是大脑高级活动。。。海马回这 explicit

neuron 的存在，以及大脑可以 selectively inhibit motor function（比如一个证据
是做梦的时候不会梦游），很难说 non-musician 公鸭嗓听歌的时候是不是在默唱。如
果是默唱的话，那个就是 episodic memory 而不是 semantic memory，甚至还有可能
是 implicit memory。

过度饮酒的慢性危害，除了已经成为常识的对心血管/肝的危害外，我
似乎也没听到别的什么说法了。最近听了一个新闻，才知道原来过度
饮酒对大脑的损害也是很可怕的，特别是青少年。人脑最后成熟前的
发育部分叫 cortex of frontal lobe, 对人的思维逻辑/识别
判断/专注力非常重要，这部分的发育通常在14岁开始，最迟可到31岁
才最终定型。青少年饮酒的风格经常是 binge drink 风格（短时间
里大量饮酒），会严重损害这部分的发育。统计研究表明，经常酗酒的
青少年，其思维逻辑/识别判断/专注力要比不饮酒或少饮酒的人差很多。
我发这个，不是因为别的，是因为经常在新闻里看到中国的围棋高手们
（特别是那些小龙小虎小豹们）好像很热衷于拼酒，以前还觉得庆祝胜利/
朋友相聚人之常情嘛，没什么大不了的。等听了这个新闻，我觉得，大脑

而是实际上crack的结构制约了能保护的最大力，而且cam多少会walk, 细的crack很难
place cam，特别是C4 (metolius master cam好一些)，ball nut很amazing，在小的
crack里work的非常好，还有brassie。
上周末刚pop了一个0.3的BD cam，当然是我的问题，基本是个blind placement，怀疑

这个基本原理搞清楚了就明白了，cam是靠向下的拉力转化为数倍的侧向压力＊摩擦系
数＝最后救命的摩擦力； 所以摩擦系数一定要大，而且因为侧向压力可以非常大（可
能上千磅）所以石头质量要好； 还有因为cam是个active pro有几个lobe，本身不一定
稳定，所以要防止walk。
买本john long的climbing anchors， mm那么聪明看看就知道了。 |

所以，天天念书泡实验室的女孩子，切记切记，没事的时候去流坛转转，把自己收拾的
利索点，素颜一定是拼不过带妆的，千万别信“素面朝天”这类的传说。恰当的容妆不
能让人脱胎换骨，至少也可以焕然一新。小小的提高一下外貌指数，你的幸福指数就能
迅速飙升。
