spot across the four islands. Still Pali Lookout stands out by its grandness
, in my opinion.

chattanooga的lookout mountain, 从atlanta开车过去大概1个多小时.我去了三个景点
，ruby falls, railway, 和rock city. 三个景点离得很近，可以买联票，一天就可以
玩完。
ruby falls是在一个山洞里有个瀑布，还不错，有点特色，山上产玉，山洞里全是玉石
，可惜都长在墙上，不能捡了带回家:D
railway就是一百多年前的索道，80度的陡坡看起来很惊险，其实车厢后面有根绳索，
由控制室拉住，慢慢地放下去，没什么景观。到站后对面的ice-cream店很实在，买个1
-scoop的ice-cream给了超大的两勺
rock city就是巨型岩石堆起来的一座山，修出路来，忽而在岩石缝里钻，忽而从岩石

可以鸟瞰丹佛市。上一次来这里，还是几年前刚来丹佛的第一个周末，由好友带
着观光，当时仅仅是感叹景色的壮丽，而这次站在山头，看着一个个熟悉的地标，
发现已经多了一份亲切感。

从atlanta开过去，路过一个town叫helen, 有人推荐说是个有德国特色的小镇，背依着

＊然后左转走的lookout trail，一直走到north lookout，那里景色很美很开阔，很多
鹰。trail整体比较容易走，有一小段是大石头，不是很累。在山顶看到很多家庭都是
带着五六岁的小孩子去。上山边慢慢走，边拍照什么的，45分钟也就到了。可以带着午
餐在上面吃。
＊我们从north lookout原路下来之后，又走了一段river of rocks trail，因为想看
看石头河到底啥样子：）1楼有一张是石头河的照片。（这段走的稍微累一些）

有两个state park，几个lookout，我们去了两次，第一次有雾并且下雨，什么都没看
到；第二次天晴，景色太美了，我觉得是Kauai最美的地方，尤其是Kalalau Lookout和
Puu o Kila Lookout一定要去看，都是开车不需要走路的，Puu o Kila Lookout不能仅
仅在他给你围起来的铁栏杆里看，要往trail方向走大概50米风景更美。
West Coast
Polihale Beach：在Kauai的最西边，沙滩超长，说是有17 mile，旁边就有山，人也超
少，因为要开一段将近5 mile的unpaved road。
North Coast
Kalalau Trail：我们hike了前两迈，感觉一般，之前照片里看到的很开阔的景色没看
到，这条trail要11 mile，要么美景在里面，要么照片太欺骗人了，我建议去夏威夷还
是别hiking了。
Hanalei Bay：还行。
Secret Beach：还行，人很少，沙滩很大，但是有很多杂树枝，沙子没有很细。沙滩上
有很多大块的黑色岩石。

车去Oregon兜了一圈。预定行程如下：
5/23 (Wed)
Leave after work.
San Jose --> Medford, OR (around 400 miles, 6 hours drive)
5/24 (Thu)
Medford, OR --> Florence, OR (213 miles, 3 hour 40 mins drive). Visit Oregon
dune's national recreation area
Florence, OR --> Cape Lookout, OR (110 miles, 3 hours 18 mins drive). Pass
tons of State Parks, light house, towns(new ports, Lincoln city, etc)

早晨8点出发，Vegas街上的车还很少。开出Vegas，沿I-15向东，一片荒芜的沙漠风光
。开始还很兴奋地体会这份苍凉，看看Joshua树，后来慢慢被这一望无边了无生机的灰
色磨得懒懒的，提不起精神来。等到Mesquite了眼前突然一亮，路边不远处一片耀眼的
绿洲，很是赏心悦目。绿洲这个词，听得看得都烂熟于心了，但若是不到沙漠里走走，
不可能真正明白这是怎样的奇迹。换Ut-9以后，一条小河就开始时不时伴随在公路左右
，像一条绿色的带子飘来飘去，这就是Virgin River，在Zion还会和她亲密接触。很快
到了Hurricane。在这里竟然发现警察大哥开的是皮卡，并且没有任何警灯或警车的标
志。如果不是抓了一个超速的，还真难注意到。这个发现使得我们整个旅途中开车谨慎
了很多。后来陆续发现Utah南部的警车很多都用皮卡，真长见识了。
10点半到达Zion门口的小镇Springdale。很多小旅店分布在街边。这里有两家卖石头的

发帖数: 265 | 42 大岛的主要景点是火山公园, Wipio valley, Mauna Kea，天文台，Kona, 和各色的沙
滩。只要有一部四轮驱动的车和娴熟的驾车技巧，根本不用take tour。这里的路线以
Hilo 机场为起始点和终点。要是飞到kona，只要把前后反一反就可以了。现在很多航
班可以从美国大陆直接到大岛，所以如果不去oahu, 不用飞honolulu。
第一日：
- Flight to Hilo
- Car rental：大岛上几乎所有wavy或steep的路租车公司禁止开。所以你租四轮驱动
的车就要犯规，不想犯规或车技不自信就要花钱参加没有什么自由度的旅游团
- 在Hilo机场找一家旅馆。大岛很大，如果你不打算住两个旅馆，就要准备花很多时间
commute （4 hours a day for example）
第二天
- Volcano national park:
穿上hiking 的装束，带上足够的水，headlight，午餐（国家公园里唯一吃饭的地方是

来美的四年多，去了26个国家公园。本来不会贴图，打算放弃参加这次活动了，但是
Gforce的帖子又激起了我那份对national park的热情。所以我也想来分享一下这些年
看到的美丽的自然风光。另外，对于hiking trail比较多的NP，我也会放一些自己推荐
的Trail，希望能对大家有所帮助。
先来一张NPS地图，图中标出了所有58个NP，其中蓝色钉的是去过的26了，红色钉的是
剩下的32个，也就是近两年的目标啦。
1. Crater Lake National Park (Oregon)
Crater Lake有着最让人心醉的深蓝色。它的神奇在于而且每天不同时段不同角度欣赏
的Crater Lake有着完全不同的景色。第一天到Crater Lake的时候是下午4点，第一眼

发帖数: 473 | 44 夏威夷很多人都去过, 我们在去之前也借鉴了不少本版的帖子作参考, 很多帖子里的信
息非常有用, 这里表示感谢. 这次我们的计划是4个岛都去从而对夏威夷有个整体的印
象. 从时间上讲, 各岛的时间安排是每个岛4天(其中Kauai岛是3个晚上). 16天里面下
海浮潜8次, 其它的时间是观光. 由于我们有一个3岁的小跟班, 因此忽略掉所有超过 1
mi 的trail. 由于岛与岛之间的交通靠飞机, 整个行程得飞5次, 只准备了一个托运行
李, 一个手提行李, 2个小背包, 刚刚好.
每个岛上都有大型的超市, 因此日常用品不需要没有特别的准备, 需要的话在岛上买就
好. 特意准别的东西是浮潜的装备, 包括浮潜用的救生衣(snorkeling vest), 面罩(
mask), 呼吸管(snorkel), 防晒的游泳衣(rash guard), 水鞋(water shoes) 以及防晒
霜. 由于觉得脚蹼太占地方, 就没有准备, 不过如果有地方的话, 还是应该准备一套.
还有就是小孩子用的救生衣以及一个给小孩子用的吹气的救生圈. 之所以特别提这个东

water activities不感兴趣，那基本就剩拍景点了。
至于摄影，你居然会建议去那些鬼沙漠州。拿UT举例，Grand Canyon和Zion算是不错的
景点，但跟HI的真正景点像Kauai的Puu o Kila Lookout，Oahu的Makapuʻu
Lookout，Paradise Cove和Pali Lookout比（见附图），根本不值一提，这些HI的景点
，只要有广角镜和偏光镜，不需要所谓“对摄影的很深理解”，就能拍出不错的片子。
