其实他二位拉拉杂杂一大堆,我只对其中的一个点最有兴趣--现在的学生是不是选择上
更保守,更趋稳。我觉得HELLER这几段写得不错。大意就是,他赞同DERESIEWICZ说的
现在的学生更趋稳,可是那是因为今时不同往日,常青疼也不是天之骄子了,工作市场
竞争激烈,尤其是贫民子弟,一家人指着他,没有这个余地考虑太多。中产,尤其是
UPPER MIDDLE CLASS (这个怎么翻?),可以琢磨琢磨这个事:

本来是想倾吐一下到新加坡的雷人经历,只是这么开了个头,居然被人挤兑成这样,楼都
歪成这样了,不得不说咱们真的是内斗内行,外斗外行啊. 其实是说好不回应了的,但是
被这样冤枉着我又心有不甘,就把后面发生的事儿也大概说说吧,是非公道,自在人心.
首先关于我对新加坡人说rain check,招致大家说我装B的问题,我不知道列位看到没看
到我后来的回复,这个听不懂的人在波士顿上大学四年,在湾区做过一年,然后回的新加
坡.这样的人听不懂rain check还说我的英语qi guai one,然后同胞也一直在声援,我真
的是无言以对.
后来的日子,我很坦诚的问了我的组员里一个和我关系比较好的本地人,问他为什么你们
会觉得我的英语奇怪.他还算老实,说,一看你的脸就知道是中国人(偶是典型北方人的脸
,呵呵),你一开口还和我们说美国口音的英语,大家当然觉得奇怪了,自然就有点反感.
我是诚心的向各位请教,你们要是我你们怎么办,我这样说话都这么多年了,以前上学时
候那杠杠的东北英语,嗯....估计还是能说,但是.么不成我真的就得一下飞机就把
