知识分子脑容量是否对社会有利，得看这个社会的伦理和美学标准是怎样形成的，
换言之，有益于大脑进化的因素是否在一定程度上构成生殖繁衍的优势。唱歌的鸟的
例子说明，如果一个物种有生物构造上的条件，并逐渐形成了这样的生殖繁衍群落规
则，那么这个物种——在这种无用的能力耗费大量新陈代谢的前提下——可以存活下
来，并且进化的结果是这些物种更‘聪明’——会制造和使用工具的极少的鸟类都是
